Brighton ready to sell Baleba

Brighton have resigned themselves to losing Carlos Baleba this summer, according to TEAMtalk.

The Cameroon international is a top target for Man Utd, and the Old Trafford club are believed to be the "firm" favourites to sign him after doing significant groundwork on a deal last year.

Baleba is expected to cost around €80 million, while Brighton have identified Nordsjaelland midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi, who is also a target for Liverpool, as the preferred replacement for the 22-year-old.

The spine of Man Utd's team could look completely unrecognisable next season, according to CaugthOffside.

In addition to Baleba, Man Utd could also look to add Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest, as well as his teammate Morgan Gibbs-White, if Bruno Fernandes leaves the club.

The Portuguese is still being courted by Saudi clubs and could be tempted to make the move. Together with the exit of Casemiro and the anticipated departure of Manuel Ugarte, this could necessitate the signing of as many as three midfielders.

Could Casemiro stay?

Speaking after Man Utd's win over Aston Villa at the weekend, Fernandes admitted that he would prefer it if Casemiro were to stay at the club.

However, Michael Carrick has played down suggestions that Man Utd could offer the Brazil international a new deal to placate their captain. The decision to part ways has been made, and it looks final.

Man Utd had the option to trigger a one-year extension in the midfielder's contract, but they decided against it because of his hefty salary. In order to stay, Casemiro would have had to take a significant pay cut.

Man Utd interested in De Cat

Anderlecht wonderkid Nathan de Cat has attracted the attention of Man Utd, according to FussballDaten

The 17-year-old is enjoying a breakout season in Belgium and is being chased by a host of top European clubs, a list that now also includes the Red Devils.

De Cat could be signed for around €35m this summer, and this would be a steal as it is believed that he could be worth as much as €100m in the not-too-distant future.

Man Utd could swap Rashford

Man Utd could offer Barcelona a discount on Marcus Rashford if the Catalans agree to give up midfielder Marc Casado in return, according to El Nacional.

Barcelona want to make the Englishman's loan spell permanent, but they are unwilling to shell out €30m on the 28-year-old. Man Utd, though, have insisted that they will not budge from this price tag.

However, the Red Devils could be tempted to agree to a swap deal with Casado. They enquired about the Spaniard in January, and it is thought that he could leave Barcelona this summer.
