Caicedo and Mount: The state of play

Manchester United submitted their third and final bid for Mason Mount on Friday evening, which Chelsea rejected.

It was then revealed that United boss Erik ten Hag has a four-player shortlist he will turn to in search of a Mount alternative.

One of the names on this list appears to be Moises Caicedo, whom United will now target after officially ending their Mount pursuit.

Chelsea, meanwhile, remain confident of striking a deal for the Ecuadorian, but they may have gambled too hard on United's willingness to get Mount.
