Camp Nou is set to undergo wholesale renovations to become a modern football cathedral, while the club will head to the United States for a pre-season tour that will also include commercial activities. In line with the attempts to make further inroads in the US and the English-speaking world in general, the Blaugrana are reportedly on the verge of announcing a new energy drinks supplier.

According to Mundo Deportivo, current sponsor Gatorade will be dropped in favour of PRIME, the energy drink created by internet celebrities KSI and Logan Paul.

Attracting younger audiences

The report goes on to say that this will be done with an eye towards attracting younger audiences seeing as though PRIME is wildly popular due to its famous backers.

KSI and Logan Paul started out as YouTubers but have since branched off into vastly different directions. KSI is one of Britain's biggest YouTubers and has also dipped into the music business. Paul has become a household name in the fighting scene, lining up against Floyd Mayweather in 2021 and now featuring in the WWE.

Barcelona would be the latest addition to an illustrious list of sports franchises that have collaborated with PRIME, a list that includes Arsenal and the UFC. KSI, a Gunners fan, planned on releasing a special Arsenal edition of PRIME if his team had won the Premier League, an idea that ultimately had to be shelved.

Concerns were, however, recently raised by medical experts over the 'huge amount of caffeine' canned versions of PRIME contain, which could be harmful to younger consumers - precisely the audience Barcelona are targeting.
