ONE MILLION Galatasaray fans in wild pursuit of Leroy Sane as winger jets in for €45m deal

Galatasaray have announced that they are close to securing a deal to sign Leroy Sane in one of the biggest transfer coups of the summer, and fans of the Super Lig giants are thrilled by the prospect.
The Istanbul outfit are in the midst of an ambitious summer revamp in which they are still hopeful of signing Victor Osimhen and have now even been linked with a stunning move for Manchester City’s Ilkay Gundogan.
While these deals may be some distance off, one that is close to being made official is Sane’s shock move from Bayern Munich as a free agent. Galatasaray have beaten competition from Arsenal to sign the Germany international winger and have confirmed that the process of concluding a deal is underway.
“Negotiations have begun with the football player Leroy Aziz Sane for his transfer to our club,” the club confirmed via their social channels on Thursday.

The move comes amidst incredible interest from the Galatasaray supporters, which has underlined just how big a club the Istanbul outfit are. There were more than one million supporters tracking the plane that carried Sane to the Turkish city while crowds flocked to the airport to greet the new sensation.
Galatasaray have gone to extraordinary lengths to complete a deal that is expected to be worth €15 million per year for the player over the course of a three-year contract. Without a transfer fee attached to him, though, the total value of the deal is €45m, which is well below the player’s Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €66m just last August.
He is seen as a decent fit for the Turkish club, particularly if he is happy to play at a side in which he is unlikely to develop his game a whole lot. SciSports’ model shows that he is well suited to both the style and formation of his new team, although surprisingly game time could be limited.
