Mikey Moore tells Tottenham exactly what he wants with 'big club' transfer wish

Tottenham loanee Mikey Moore has spoken about his future after a surprising transfer revelation.

The 19-year-old has been with Spurs since the age of seven and is regarded as one of the biggest talents at the club. However, with Moore not yet deemed ready for consistent first-team action, he is now in his second season out on loan.

Having spent last term at Rangers in Scotland, the versatile attacker headed to the Bundesliga this summer, linking up with Koln after a lengthy saga. An agreement had been in place for weeks, but Tottenham delayed this exit as they struggled to get attacking signings over the line.

Ultimately, they did manage to bring in Savinho and Omar Marmoush from Man City and gave the green light for Moore to join Koln on Deadline Day. This meant that the youngster did not have a pre-season to get to know his new teammates.

Despite this, it has been an auspicious start for the teenager in Germany. On his debut against Stuttgart, he delivered a cross that defender Ramon Hendriks turned into his own net, although this was merely a consolation goal for Koln. He then started in a 1-1 draw with Bremen at the weekend.

Moore sends clear Spurs message

On Wednesday, the print edition of BILD revealed that Moore was never in two minds about what his next move should look like this summer. He was convinced that Koln would be the perfect next step for him.

In their first year back in the Bundesliga, Koln helped Said El Mala explode onto the scene. He is now a Germany international and was close to securing a €50 million transfer this summer before ultimately signing a new contract.

It is believed that the club can provide a similar platform for Moore to show off his talents. His move to Koln was never just about getting regular minutes; he wants to impress in the Bundesliga and play his way onto the radar of big clubs.

That's why he is said to have turned down approaches from Everton and Fulham. The German tabloid claims that these clubs were ready to pay up to €30 million for Moore, but the youngster is aiming higher.

He wants to feature for clubs of the stature of Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City. Ideally, though, he would prefer to make the grade at his boyhood club and become a star at Tottenham.

He admitted as much in an interview with Koln's club media shortly after the above-mentioned report was published. "Spurs are a big part of my life," Moore said. "My goal is to reach as high a level as possible. I would be delighted if I could make it at Spurs."

To date, the 19-year-old has made 24 senior appearances for his parent club, scoring twice and producing three assists. He played almost twice as many games at Rangers last season alone.

Koln are a huge club, but the pressure won't be comparable to chaos-stricken Rangers, which could allow Moore to play with some real freedom. The German side's main goal this season is to stay in the Bundesliga.

Moore is determined to make the most of his experience at Koln and to "take responsibility." He says that head coach Rene Wagner has promised him an outsized role in his team's frontline.

"I had very good conversations with Rene," the teenager revealed. "From our first talk, he made it clear how and where I should be playing. I love that he wants me to attack and score goals.

"I'm looking forward to playing in a team that expects a lot from me. I want to take responsibility here."

Moore is particularly excited about playing "in big, packed stadiums" and reuniting with Tottenham legend Harry Kane, with whom he trained when he was just breaking through.

"He was an unbelievable player for Tottenham," the youngster said of his compatriot. "What he's doing now is hard to put into words. I had a few training sessions with him when I was younger. I'm already looking forward to playing against him."

It's already clear that Moore won't stay at Koln beyond this season, but he is nevertheless looking to leave his mark. "I want to excite and get the crowd going. After this season, I want the fans to say that they enjoyed watching me and that I gave everything for the club," he concluded.
