Arsenal Transfer News Today: Record deal planned as Arteta's shortlist revealed
All the latest Arsenal transfer news in one place, including updates on Kenan Yildiz, Bazoumana Toure and Kennet Eichhorn.
Yildiz, Guler headline January shortlist
Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Arsenal will be "actively looking" to make January signings following the club's recent injury crisis and a few disappointing results.
Heading into the window, Arsenal have at least eight high-profile players on their shortlist, the most notable of whom are Kenan Yildiz, Arda Guler and Ayyoub Bouaddi.
However, all three are deemed potentially unattainable targets, which is why the North London giants have also added several other interesting players to their shortlist.
Arsenal interested in Toure
Looking ahead to the summer, Arsenal are interested in Hoffenheim youngster Bazoumana Toure, who has been one of the breakout stars in the Bundesliga this season.
The rapid winger has been a huge reason behind Hoffenheim's unexpected surge up the table, and the club have already resigned themselves to losing him in the summer.
Hoffenheim are hoping to receive a club-record fee for the Ivorian, which would require Arsenal to pay a fee in excess of €44 million after the season.
Bayern prepare Eichhorn offer
Bayern Munich are rivalling Arsenal for the signing of Hertha BSC wonderkid Kennet Eichhorn and are preparing a financial package worth €25m for the teenager.
Bayern are prepared to trigger the 16-year-old's €12.5m release clause, with the rest of the €25m package consisting of wages and bonuses. The Munich outfit have the advantage that the youngster could join them immediately, whereas Arsenal would have to wait until he turns 18.
Despite Bayern's efforts, it is not ruled out that the youngster opts to sign a new contract with his boyhood club. Hertha want to hand Eichhorn improved terms to increase his release clause or to potentially get rid of it altogether.
