Arsenal face €25m threat as Tottenham transfer truth revealed
Bayern Munich are readying a €25 million package for Arsenal target Kennet Eichhorn amid claims that Tottenham are interested in Leon Goretzka.
The Bavarians have been trying to rid themselves of Goretzka for some time, but the Germany international has refused to simply leave his lucrative contract behind.
The 30-year-old has managed to successfully fight for his place, which has earned him the respect of head coach Vincent Kompany. Goretzka, who previously had it made clear to him that he was surplus to requirements, has started the majority of Bayern's Bundesliga games this term.
However, his revival has done little to change his future. Bayern are not expected to extend his expiring contract, which means that the veteran midfielder will have to find a new club in 2026.
This has given rise to rumours that Tottenham could look to sign him in January, but Sky Germany and The Athletic report that Spurs have no interest in Goretzka at present. Nevertheless, Bayern are already actively trying to sign a potential successor.
Bayern prepare Eichhorn offer
According to tz, Bayern are prepared to pay a €25 million package for Hertha BSC wonderkid Kennet Eichhorn, who has been the biggest breakout star in German football this season.
The 16-year-old has established himself as a regular in the promotion-chasing 2. Bundesliga side. Naturally, transfer speculation has been rampant in recent weeks. Numerous European giants, including Arsenal, have been linked with a move for the teenager.
Unlike Premier League clubs, who would have to wait until his 18th birthday, Bayern could have Eichhorn immediately available in 2026, and they are trying to get ahead of the competition.
The Munich giants are ready to trigger the youngster's €12.5 million release clause and are looking for a total package of around €25m, including wages and bonuses. However, there is no guarantee that their courtship will be successful.
Hertha are desperately scrambling to get rid of Eichhorn's release clause, or at the very least to increase it, by handing their prodigy a new contract. An extension would not automatically rule out a summer transfer, but it would make it significantly more expensive.
