Huijsen to Real Madrid practically done

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano announced that Dean Huijsen's move to Real Madrid is about to be completed.

"These are crucial hours. The 'here we go' is coming soon for Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid. A new round of negotiations took place this morning between the agents of Huijsen, his father Involved, and Real Madrid. A very positive round.

"Now working on the final points of the contract, and then it's going to be time for medical tests, contract signing. Everything will be agreed soon between Real Madrid and Huijsen. Yesterday, Real Madrid and the agents of the Huijsen started exchanging all the documents.

"Between clubs, the deal is done. Real Madrid paid the release clause of £50 million for Huijsen in three instalments. So by the end of 2027, everything will be paid. Everything is okay between the clubs, including Bournemouth authorising Huijsen to do his medical at Real Madrid.

"Now waiting for the player to complete the contract agreement. We know he always gave total priority to Real Madrid, so this is a formal, important step to complete."

Frimpong close to Liverpool

Romano then confirmed that Jeremie Frimpong is on the verge of joining Liverpool.

"It could be a matter of days, really, because everything is almost agreed between Jeremie Frimpong, his representatives and Liverpool in terms of contract, length of the contract, salary, commission. They are discussing every single point, and it's going very well.

"This agreement, Frimpong-Liverpool, is not going to be a problem, also because the player wants to move. On Monday, Liverpool also spoke to Bayer Leverkusen to inform them about this negotiation with Frimpong, to ask about more details on the release clause, the instalments and all the points of the agreement.

"The release clause is worth €35m, plus solidarity payment, so closer to €40m in terms of total package, but it's not going to be an issue or a problem for Liverpool. They need a replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold, and it's going to be Frimpong.

"Liverpool will have a new right back and he's going to be Dutch. And this Dutch factor was important because obviously, the coach, Arne Slot, knows Frimpong so well. And then the leaders in the dressing room, players like obviously Virgil van Dijk, but also important players like [Ryan] Gravenberch, [Cody] Gakpo, many Dutch players."

Reijnders to Man City one to watch

Next up, Romano reiterated that Man City are actively pursuing a deal for Tijjani Reijnders.

"It's going to be an interesting one because he's obviously a crucial player for Milan. It's been a poor season for Milan, but not for Reijnders. He did fantastically in terms of goals, success, leadership. He's a very good midfielder, and he's the top target for Man City at the number eight position.

"They want two creative players, a number eight and a number 10. For the number 10 position, the dream is Florian Wirz, but it's really complicated because there is a big battle ongoing. Then there is [Morgan] Gibbs-White, who remains high on the list of Man City.

"And then there is Reijnders. Reijnders at number eight is considered the perfect player by Man City director Hugo Viana, the new director who is taking care of the market, and also by Pep Guardiola. They will go with an official proposal in the next days.

"They wanted to respect Milan playing the Coppa Italia final, but then they will present in the next days an official bid for Reijnders. It's expected to be more than €50m from my understanding. The idea internally is to go strong for Reijnders, and then we have to understand how the conversation with the player side will go.

"He extended the contract at Milan just a few months ago, so Man City also need to negotiate an important contract eventually with Reijnders. It's not an easy deal or a super-fast deal, but Man City want to go for it. Let's see how Milan will react."

Cunha to Man Utd not in doubt

Romano also provided an update on the situation of Matheus Cunha, insisting that his move to Man Utd is not in doubt despite the recent radio silence.

"Relax a bit on this one in the sense that, yes, probably there was a feeling two, three weeks ago that this deal could happen in a few days, but it always takes time to prepare a contract, to agree on the salary, to speak with the agent, then to agree with Wolves on the payment terms for the £62.5m release clause.

"They need to find an agreement on the payment terms. Man Utd are working on it. Man Utd have very good connection with Cunha, with his agents. It's a very positive conversation. Ruben Amorim appreciates Cunha, and Cunha knows that very well.

"Man Utd remain very confident. Despite the rumours about other clubs - there's always been a lot of interest in Cunha - Man Utd are the clear favourites. We expect Man Utd to advance on this one in the next days.

"From what I always heard, it's not about the Champions League football or not, winning the Europa League or not. It's not about that. Cunha is keen on the move to United. It's just about completing the contract agreement."

Wirtz yet to make a decision

Florian Wirtz

Lastly, Romano spoke about Florian Wirtz, who has yet to make a decision on his next club.

"I understand the excitement because this is a proper saga. There are many clubs involved, but in this case, I can guarantee that nothing is decided. Nothing at all is decided. If the family of Wirtz decide to travel to England and meet with clubs it's because still nothing is decided.

"Internally at Bayern, they remain convinced that they are the clear favourites for Wirtz, and they are convinced that Wirtz wants to play for them. At the moment, still nothing is completed in terms of agreement,

"This is why the English clubs are trying. Liverpool had contacts with people close to Wirtz, but at this moment, they know that this deal is not something easy at all, advanced at all. Liverpool, as I think is normal for a top club, wanted to be informed on the situation - what's the status of the story, what kind of project we have to offer.

"It's not something I'm going to report as a super big moment for Liverpool because it depends on how it evolves on the player's side. It all depends on the player.

"About Man City, they are in a very good relationship with Bayer Leverkusen. From what I heard, Leverkusen and City were discussing, in case of this deal, also to include players in the agreement, like James McAtee, so sort of move for young talents to go to Bayer Leverkusen.

"But again, it's up to Wirtz. Bayern are convinced that they will be his final choice. Let's see what happens with the player. Now it's going to be a big battle, but I can guarantee that as of today, still nothing has been decided."
