Transfer Rumours: Lucas Bergvall price named as Man Utd stance revealed
FootballTransfers runs through the biggest rumours and gossip from 30 June, including the latest updates on Lucas Bergvall, Mason Mount and Felix Nmecha.
Bergvall to cost over €50m
Tottenham will not sell midfielder Lucas Bergvall for less than €50 million, according to Gianluca di Marzio.
The Sweden international has requested to leave the club, and several suitors have already come forward. However, signing him will not be easy, with Spurs having already rejected a bid from Nottingham Forest. Napoli are also in the mix, but it is doubtful whether they can afford him.
"He’s a player you think: ‘I’ll go there, maybe l’lI take him on loan, offer €30m, offer €35m and they’ll give him to me,’ but Napoli, who are among the most interested teams in Italy, have made an effort to understand and thought perhaps, at most, they could land him with €40m," Di Marzio said.
"Tottenham recently rejected €50m, likely from an English club, likely Nottingham Forest. And I don’t think they’ll go below that threshold. It will always take €50m or more."
Mount not for sale
Man Utd have decided that midfielder Mason Mount is not for sale this summer, the Daily Mail understands.
The former England international has struggled with injuries since joining the Red Devils in 2023, which has engendered rumours that he could be on the move, particularly as he barely featured following the appointment of Michael Carrick.
Carrick's predecessor Ruben Amorim was a big fan of Mount, and it has been claimed that he is keen to bring him to AC Milan. However, Man Utd do not wish to sell him this summer.
Nmecha open to Premier League move
Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha is open to a Premier League transfer, as per BILD.
The Germany international has been linked with Man Utd, Man City and Newcastle. A move to Manchester would appeal to him, while he is not keen to join the Magpies. However, Dortmund do not wish to sell.
Nmecha only recently signed a new contract, and his €70m release clause won't be active until next year. In order to get Dortmund to sell, a fee in the region of €120m may be required.
Kane to stay at Bayern
Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane is expected to sign a new contract with the club, Sky Sports understands.
The England captain has been the subject of an enquiry from Barcelona, who are scouring the market for a replacement for Chicago Fire-bound Robert Lewandowski.
Despite the interest from the Catalans, Kane will not move. His contract, which is due to expire next year, is likely to be extended, with the striker and his family feeling settled and content in Munich.
Surprise Cucurella replacement?
Rayo Vallecano left-back Pep Chavarria has emerged as a surprise target for Chelsea, MARCA writes.
The Blues are mulling over whether or not to replace Real Madrid-bound Marc Cucurella with a like-for-like player or whether to stick with their current options in Jorrel Hato and new signing Marco Palestra, who can also play on the left.
Contact has been made with Chavarria's camp to sound out the feasibility of a move for the 28-year-old. Chavarria has a release clause and is also fielding interest from Bayer Leverkusen, who will lose Alejandro Grimaldo to Atletico Madrid.
