Cristiano Ronaldo in transfer talks with Man Utd star
Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly in contact with his former Real Madrid team-mate Casemiro in an attempt to persuade him to join Al-Nassr this summer.
The Brazil midfielder will leave Manchester United when his contract expires at the end of June, and he has been widely tipped to complete a Bosman move to MLS outfit Inter Miami.
However, Ronaldo wants to hijack the proposed deal by finalising an agreement for Casemiro to become Al-Nassr’s latest superstar signing.
That is according to Spanish publication Marca, who claim that Ronaldo has taken the initiative by contacting Casemiro in an attempt to convince him to complete a move to the Saudi Pro League side in July.
He regards his former Los Blancos team-mate as a key transfer target for this summer, while a move to Saudi Arabia would have significant financial benefits for Casemiro.
However, Inter Miami are also determined to sign Casemiro on a Bosman deal following the retirement of Barcelona legend Sergio Busquets at the end of the 2025 MLS season.
Casemiro confirms Man Utd exit
Rumours had suggested that Casemiro could stay at Man Utd for another season, despite confirming his exit earlier this year, but he has now reiterated that he will leave Old Trafford in July.
Speaking after Brazil’s 2-1 defeat to France last week, Casemiro told The Athletic: “I am still enjoying it a lot [at Man Utd]. I believe the announcement is now done. It is huge, the affection that the fans have shown towards me.
“But I do really believe the decision is made and done. I am enjoying myself right now. I believe it will be some difficult moments, these [final] games at Manchester United.”
Casemiro has made 30 appearances across all competitions for Man Utd so far this campaign, scoring seven goals and providing two assists, and he has enjoyed an excellent final season at the club.
