Man Utd Transfer News Today: Palmer ‘primed’ for Chelsea exit as €100m marquee move planned
Manchester United’s hunt for new central midfielders continues to draw headlines, with updates on the likes of Cole Palmer, Sandro Tonali, Elliot Anderson and Eduardo Camavinga.
Palmer eyes Chelsea exit amid Man Utd interest
Cole Palmer is “primed” to leave Chelsea in the summer after becoming “disillusioned” with life at Stamford Bridge, a report from The Sun claims.
FootballTransfers has reported that Palmer is on Man Utd’s summer shortlist, and the news that he wants to leave Stamford Bridge will certainly pique the Red Devils’ interest given that he is open to a move back to Manchester.
Chelsea see the 23-year-old as one of their “untouchable” players, and with Enzo Fernandez increasingly pushing to leave the Premier League giants, it is likely to toughen their resolve against any sale.
Tonali tops Man Utd’s summer wishlist
Man Utd have put Sandro Tonali at the top of their summer transfer wishlist, according to Fabrizio Romano.
“Tonali has been excellent recently, scoring for Italy against Northern Ireland and performing very well for Newcastle United. Newcastle also expect potential movement around him this summer,” he told his YouTube channel.
“It is important to note that Manchester United have already made contact with Tonali’s camp to be informed about his situation. There is still no agreement, no negotiation stage yet, but the interest is real and consistent.
“Tonali appreciates the idea of returning to a bigger European stage if all parties align, so this one will be worth keeping an eye on.
“There is also interest from Arsenal, confirmed, but again nothing advanced there either. For Italian clubs, including Juventus, the deal would be financially almost impossible.
“So as of today, United like Tonali, early contact made, and the midfielder is aware of their interest. It is still early, but expect this to heat up later in the window.”
Anderson is Man Utd’s €100m dream
Contrary to Romano, The Sun reports that Elliot Anderson has been made Man Utd’s “marquee summer signing” target.
It claims that the Nottingham Forest star is the “dream” player for the Red Devils, despite claims that Manchester City are leading the race for the player.
Anderson would cost around €100 million.
Camavinga linked with Old Trafford transfer
Yet another midfielder associated with the Red Devils is Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga, with the France star subject to claims in Spain that Man Utd are poised to beat Chelsea to him.
The 23-year-old, who has also been linked with Chelsea, would cost around €70m.
Real Madrid are open to selling the France international to increase their funds to sign elsewhere.
