Man Utd want €100m superstar as their 'marquee summer signing'
Manchester United want to make Elliot Anderson their “marquee summer signing” and they are ready to go all out to sign the Nottingham Forest midfielder ahead of the 2026-27 season.
The England international has enjoyed an excellent campaign at the City Ground, despite the club’s struggles, and he is set to be rewarded with a blockbuster transfer to one of the Premier League’s biggest teams during the upcoming summer window.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Man Utd are all set to battle for Anderson’s signature when the window opens, although the latter two clubs are currently deemed to be the frontrunners to sign him.
Rumours have indicated that Pep Guardiola’s side are close to reaching an agreement for the 23-year-old, but Man Utd are determined to win the race to sign him after identifying him as their top candidate to replace Casemiro, who is leaving on a Bosman deal.
The Sun have now confirmed that Anderson has been earmarked as Man Utd’s dream “marquee summer signing,” with the club desperate to bring him to Old Trafford as they look to compete for major honours next season.
Man Utd desperate to sign Elliot Anderson
It’s understood that Man City are Anderson’s most likely next destination, however Man Utd officials are reportedly prepared to plan their entire summer recruitment around signing the England star.
Nottingham Forest are set to demand a fee worth at least €100 million for their star midfielder, but Man Utd are ready to go ‘all out’ to sign him, despite spending over €250m on new signings last summer.
The Red Devils are also interested in fellow Premier League midfielders Adam Wharton, Carlos Baleba, Sandro Tonali and Alex Scott, but Anderson is their priority target as they look to secure the services of a player capable of complementing Kobbie Mainoo in the middle of the park.
