West Ham prepare €40m January bid as Nuno makes HUGE striker decision
West Ham United are reportedly preparing a €40 million offer for Palmeiras striker Vitor Roque as they look to finalise a deal during the January transfer window.
Roque, 20, has scored 13 goals in 43 matches since returning to Brazil in February and West Ham have identified him as a key mid-season target amid the woes of Niclas Fullkrug so far this campaign.
The Germany centre forward is yet to score in six appearances across all competitions in 2025-26 and new West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo is reportedly eager to bolster the options at his disposal in January.
That is according to Spanish publication Fichajes, who claim that West Ham are ready to lodge a €40m bid for Roque. They are reportedly closely following his development in Brazil and view him as the “ideal candidate” to become Nuno’s new starting centre forward for the second-half of the campaign.
Fullkrug and Callum Wilson are the only out-and-out senior strikers available to Nuno at current, and it’s believed that adding additional attacking firepower may be needed in order to avoid falling into a full-blown relegation battle.
West Ham chase Vitor Roque deal
Roque became the most expensive player in Brazilian top flight history when he completed a €25.5m move from Barcelona to Palmeiras on 28 February, but he could be set to leave the club after less than 12 months back in his homeland.
The 20-year-old was expected to challenge Robert Lewandowski for a starting berth at Camp Nou upon his arrival from Athletico Paranaense, however he struggled for regular first-team minutes during his first few months at Barcelona and he was sent on loan to Real Betis last summer.
Roque notched seven goals in 33 games for the Spanish club, but his loan move was mutually terminated during the winter transfer window in order for him to complete a permanent move back to Brazil with Palmeiras.
