Chelsea are spiralling into turmoil after three defeats in their last four matches, and multiple reports have confirmed that Enzo Maresca is beginning to lose the support of the dressing room.

The Italian enjoyed a wholly positive first campaign at Stamford Bridge as he secured Champions League football in addition to winning the Europa Conference League and the inaugural summer Club World Cup.

However, the club have only won three of their eight matches across all competitions so far this campaign and they are just four points clear of 18th-place Burnley in the 2025-26 Premier League table.

Reports have speculated that Chelsea’s squad are no longer happy with Maresca at the helm, with star man Cole Palmer said to be among the players who have expressed their discontent at the 45-year-old’s tactical decisions.

This has now been confirmed by Chelsea reporter Simon Phillips and The Independent’s Miguel Delaney.

Chelsea squad unhappy with Enzo Maresca

Despite the success of Maresca’s debut campaign, Chelsea’s squad are beginning to lose faith in their manager.

That is according to the aforementioned Phillips, who posted on X: “As I reported last season, a big handful of Chelsea’s players have not ‘vibed’ with Maresca.

“The stuff on Palmer from last season was true. And it was more than him. A good handful of them didn’t like how he was getting them to play. Is what it is.”

Meanwhile, Delaney told Sky Sports News: “There's a lot of noise and chatter in the game that things haven't been quite right at Chelsea. The players have been surprised by some of the decisions. There has been a bit more disconnect between Maresca and the hierarchy…

“Something is not right in that team and it’s really escalating.”

Chelsea face Benfica in the Champions League on Tuesday evening, before aiming to secure their first Premier League victory since 30 August against Liverpool next Saturday.
