Man Utd Transfer News Today: Striker shortlist revealed as major deals confirmed
All the latest Man Utd transfer news in one place, including updates on Benjamin Sesko, Nicolas Jackson and Alejandro Garnacho.
Major exits confirmed
Man Utd have all but confirmed that players such as Antony, Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho will leave the club by omitting them from their pre-season tour of the United States.
Tyrell Malacia is another player who didn't make the cut, although he is not expected to generate much of a fee for the Red Devils. Harry Maguire is absent for personal reasons.
Injured goalkeeper Andre Onana has travelled with the squad, while Garnacho, Antony and Sancho have remained in Europe to seek transfers away from Old Trafford.
Man Utd want striker and goalkeeper
Man Utd sealed the signing of Bryan Mbeumo on Monday and will now shift their focus to the striker and goalkeeper markets, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The transfer insider has confirmed that Man Utd are desperate to add a big-name No.9 to their squad after Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee failed to perform last term.
Additionally, Man Utd could sign a new goalkeeper, but they have yet to make a decision if they want to sign an outright replacement for Andre Onana, such as Emiliano Martinez, or younger competition like Senne Lammens.
Striker shortlist revealed
David Ornstein has confirmed that the likes of Benjamin Sesko, Ollie Watkins and Nicolas Jackson are on Man Utd's shortlist of strikers amid their ongoing search for a new No.9.
However, as things stand, all three are deemed too expensive for the Old Trafford club after they spent €150 million on Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.
Man Utd are instead believed to be targeting different, more affordable options, but Ornstein did not disclose any names.
