Chelsea Transfer News Today: New €30m target after Maresca confirmation

All the latest Chelsea transfer news in one place, including updates on Jamie Gittens, Hugo Ekitike and Mike Maignan.
Chelsea make Fofana enquiry

Chelsea have verbally registered their interest in Olympique Lyon winger Malick Fofana, according to French media and confirmed by David Ornstein.
The Blues made contact with the Ligue 1 side to enquire about the availability of the Belgium international. Fofana currently has an Estimated Transfer Value of €29.8 million, so he should be relatively affordable.
The exciting winger scored 11 goals and provided six assists for Lyon in the bygone season.
Maresca confirms winger plan

The interest in Fofana stems from Chelsea's desire to add a left-winger this summer after sending Jadon Sancho back to Man Utd, and with Mykhailo Mudryk still banned.
Chelsea attempted to sign Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund in the first summer window, but failed despite a Deadline Day summit and an improved bid. He remains their top target.
Head coach Enzo Maresca has confirmed that the left wing is 'a position that probably we need to do something.'
Man Utd leading Ekitike race

Man Utd are thought to be the favourites to sign Eintracht Frankfurt winger Hugo Ekitike despite his hefty €100m price tag. The Frenchman is keen on the move as he is a boyhood fan.
Moreover, it is claimed that Man Utd recruitment guru Christopher Vivell is close friends with Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krosche, which is giving the Red Devils another advantage.
Chelsea remain interested in the striker, but the Blues have made it clear to Frankfurt that they won't pay €100m for the 22-year-old.
Milan to hold crisis talks with Maignan

AC Milan have scheduled 'crisis talks' with goalkeeper Mike Maignan to resolve his contract situation. The Frenchman was pushing for a move to Chelsea in the Club World Cup transfer window, but the Blues refused to meet Milan's asking price.
Maignan has made it clear to the Serie A giants that he won't extend his expiring contract, but the Rossoneri want to convince him to change his mind so as not to lose him for free next year.
Maignan remains keen on linking up with Chelsea, but the Blues won't pursue a move for him again this summer unless Milan lower their asking price.
