Florian Wirtz: Liverpool spend ASTONISHING €240m on blockbuster transfer

Florian Wirtz’s imminent summer move to Liverpool could cost the Reds a whopping €240 million across the course of a five-year contract.
The Germany international is on the verge of completing a blockbuster transfer to Anfield after Arne Slot’s side reached a full agreement with Bayer Leverkusen last week. David Ornstein has now confirmed to The Athletic that a medical is set for Friday.
Wirtz is set to arrive at the club for an initial transfer fee of €117.5m, while potential add-ons could make him the most expensive Premier League signing in history, and the third priciest player of all time, at €136.3m.
He will usurp Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez as the English top flight’s record signing if add-on clauses are met, although Liverpool’s outlay will not stop there.
According to renowned football finance account Swiss Ramble, Wirtz’s move to Liverpool could reach €240m (£204.9m) when including his transfer fee, possible add-ons, agent fees, wages and various other costs.
Wirtz could earn a total salary of €87m if he stays at Liverpool for the duration of his five-year deal, while the Reds may spend a whopping €153.9m on the transfer due to high agent fees and solidarity payments made to clubs in the English Football League (EFL).
As media has updated details on Florian Wirtz’s transfer to Liverpool, I have revised the deal sheet, now including NI & Solidarity payment. Highlights level of commitment clubs have to make for top talent #LFC

Florian Wirtz to Liverpool
Wirtz scored 16 goals and provided 15 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions for Bayer Leverkusen last season and he is considered to be one of the best players in world football.
However, it remains to be seen where he will fit in at Liverpool. The Germany international is most comfortable in a No.10 role, although Slot would be required to drop Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai or Ryan Gravenberch to the substitutes bench in order to deploy Wirtz in a midfield position.
As a result, he could potentially be used as a left winger, with fellow imminent arrival Milos Kerkez providing width from left-back.
