Maresca CONFIRMS Chelsea transfer plan

Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Chelsea will look to sign a new winger this summer after the club opted against purchasing Jadon Sancho on a permanent deal.
Sancho, 25, spent last season on loan at Stamford Bridge, however the Blues decided to pay a €6 million penalty fee to send him back to Manchester United after an underwhelming campaign in west London.
The Englishman’s departure and Mykhailo Mudryk’s doping suspension has left Chelsea extremely thin in attack and Maresca has now all but admitted that his side will sign a new winger this summer, despite the fact that Estevao Willian will arrive from Palmeiras in July.
Speaking ahead of Chelsea’s opening match of the Club World Cup against Los Angeles FC, Maresca told reporters: “Jadon is not with us. So for sure that is a position that probably we need to do something.
“Also because Misha [Mudryk] is not with us. At this moment we have Noni [Madueke], Pedro [Neto] and Ty [George] as proper wingers. So for sure something is going to happen.”
Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Jamie Gittens was close to joining Chelsea during the pre-Club World Cup transfer window, and talks to sign him could be reopened next month, while Nico Williams and Alejandro Garnacho are also on the Blues’ radar.

Chelsea’s goalkeeper situation
In addition, Maresca clarified that he remains happy with Chelsea’s current crop of goalkeepers, despite the club failing to reach an agreement for Mike Maignan last week.
“Robert [Sanchez] is the number one, we have Filip [Jorgensen] as number two,” Maresca revealed.
“[Mike] Penders joins us in the next few weeks to analyse, judge him and take a final decision. Then for Maignan or different players, I don't think it's worth talking about them.”
Despite an encouraging loan spell at Strasbourg, Djordje Petrovic is unlikely to remain at Chelsea this summer after being excluded from their Club World Cup squad, while Kepa Arrizabalaga is set to be sold to Arsenal.
