Chelsea issued Ekitike ultimatum

Chelsea have been given an ultimatum over Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike, who is a number of offensive options that the Blues have been tracking.

Ekitike is coming off the back of a stellar season with the Bundesliga club, scoring 22 goals and creating another 12 across all competitions.

Such form has attracted a good deal of attention, with Liverpool the latest club linked with a move for him, but Eintracht are determined not to sell the 22-year-old and have placed a €100 million price tag on his head.

“If the price isn’t right, then he’ll just stay with us. We don’t have to sell Hugo,” Markus Krosche, CEO of the club, told Wiesbadener Kurier.

Chelsea in pursuit of PSG target

Chelsea could rival Paris Saint-Germain in the pursuit of Ilya Zabarnyi, with Bournemouth ready to demand a significant fee if they are to sell their star defender.

PSG have pushed hard for Zabarnyi and saw a €50m offer rejected by Bournemouth, with the 22-year-old also keen to continue his career in France with the Champions League winners.

However, Bournemouth’s mammoth sales this summer has meant the Cherries have no need to cash in on any more stars after Kerkez and they are understood to have placed a pricetag of €75m on Zabarnyi.

And Ukrainian outlet Tribuna has confirmed that Liverpool and Chelsea are among the teams who have also retained an interest in Zabarnyi, although the situation may not progress until after the Club World Cup.

Petrovic asked to be left out of Chelsea squad

Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic asked to be left out of Enzo Maresca’s Club World Cup squad, choosing instead to focus on resolving his future this summer.

Having just returned from a strong season on loan at affiliate club Strasbourg, Petrovic is seeking a guaranteed starting role — something Chelsea are currently unable to offer.

Despite this, the relationship between Petrovic and the club remains positive, with Chelsea fully understanding his stance and the Serbian is expected to return for pre-season training in July if he cannot find a move elsewhere.

Strasbourg are keen on signing him permanently, while several Premier League clubs are also monitoring his situation, leading to Chelsea agreeing with his choice to miss out on the tournament.

If a permanent move guaranteeing regular first-team football doesn’t materialise, the Serbian international is expected to return for Chelsea’s pre-season training in July.

Bynoe-Gittens ‘waiting for Chelsea call’

Fabrizio Romano has given an update on Chelsea’s pursuit of Dortmund’s Jamie Bynoe-Gittens after they failed to sign the winger before the Club World Cup transfer deadline.

“Chelsea feel they’re well covered upfront for the World Cup and they’re happy to keep negotiating in the next days and weeks for Bynoe-Gittens,” Romano told GIVEMESPORT.

“The player is literally waiting for Chelsea's call as he has also told Dortmund directors. Gittens wants Chelsea; he will remain professional in the next weeks, but his desire is to sign for the Blues and that won’t change anytime soon.

“The agreement between Bynoe-Gittens, his agents and Chelsea is done until June 2032 on a seven-year contract; and he won’t change his word and plans as he wants Chelsea as his next destination.
