Arsenal ready to agree Myles Lewis-Skelly transfer
Arsenal are reportedly prepared to agree a loan transfer for Myles Lewis-Skelly this summer amid the England star’s lack of game time so far this season.
The 19-year-old broke into Mikel Arteta’s preferred starting XI last campaign, but opportunities have been far more limited this term and he hasn’t played a single minute of Premier League football since Arsenal’s 0-0 draw against Liverpool on 8 January.
Lewis-Skelly is currently behind Piero Hincapie and Riccardo Calafiori in the left-back pecking order at the Emirates Stadium and he is yet to be trusted in a central midfield role - his natural position.
With only 11 starts across all competitions in 2025-26, Lewis-Skelly has disappeared from the England picture and he is now widely expected to miss out on an inclusion for this summer’s World Cup, with Nico O’Reilly and Lewis Hall both tipped to be favoured by Thomas Tuchel.
Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Everton and West Ham United are among the clubs who have been linked with a move for Lewis-Skelly this year, and Arsenal are now open to agreeing a loan deal when the summer window opens, as per CaughtOffside.
Arsenal’s summer plans
In addition to Lewis-Skelly, there are also doubts surrounding Ethan Nwaneri’s long-term future at the Emirates Stadium, according to The Times.
The Arsenal academy graduate was sent on loan to Olympique Marseille during the recent winter transfer window and with competition from Martin Odegaard, Eberechi Eze, Kai Havertz, Mikel Merino and Max Dowman for a starting berth, several clubs are eyeing a potential summer deal.
Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, Christian Norgaard, Leandro Trossard and Ben White could also be sold by Arsenal this summer, while the club are eager to bolster their options in defence, midfield and attack.
FootballTransfers understands that Newcastle United full-back Valentino Livramento has been earmarked as a top summer target by the Arsenal hierarchy, with his team-mate Sandro Tonali also on the club’s radar.
Rafael Leao (AC Milan) and Francesco Pio Esposito (Inter Milan) have both been identified as possible forward signings, while Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez has been heavily linked with an Emirates Stadium switch too.
