The Brazil international has less than two years remaining on his current deal at the Bernabeu and it’s widely understood that he could leave the club in 2026 amid significant transfer interest from across world football.

Several Saudi Pro League teams are eager to acquire Vinicius Jr’s signature next year, while Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United have all been speculatively linked with a move for the 25-year-old in recent weeks too.

Vinicius had a public spat with Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso following his substitution in El Clasico in late October and it has been widely reported that his relationship with the Spaniard is extremely strained.

Furthermore, The Athletic have reported that Vini Jr has told Real Madrid president Florentino Perez that he has no intention of signing a new contract at the club amid his current relationship with Alonso.

Furthermore, Real Madrid are unwilling to match Vinicius’ request to become the highest-paid player in the squad, as exclusively revealed by The Transfers Podcast back in March. As a result, it had been expected that an exit could take place in 2026.

However, a blockbuster report from Mundo Deportivo now claims that a new deal could be on the cards instead.

Vinicius Jr to sign new Real Madrid contract?

Vinicius was spotted embracing Alonso following Real Madrid’s 4-3 victory over Olympiacos in the Champions League on Wednesday night and, in a major twist, the Brazilian is now “closer than ever” to penning fresh terms at the Bernabeu, as per Mundo Deportivo.

It’s reported that he is willing to lower his current wage demands to an amount that Los Blancos deem acceptable and all parties are now eager to finalise an agreement in the coming months.
