Amorim drops BOMBSHELL Man Utd update amid sack rumours

Ruben Amorim has admitted that he should resign as Manchester United manager if the club’s dreadful form extends into next season.
The Red Devils were beaten 2-0 by West Ham United on Sunday afternoon, thanks to goals from Tomas Soucek and Jarrod Bowen, and they are now languishing down in 16th place in the Premier League table.
Amorim’s side secured their place in the Europa League final with a 4-1 second leg win over Athletic Club on Thursday, however they are without a win in their last seven English top flight matches and they could end the season just one place above the relegation zone if results go against them.
Speaking to reporters after their disappointing defeat to West Ham, Amorim admitted: “Everybody here has to think seriously about a lot of things. Everybody is thinking about the [Europa League] final. The final is not the issue. We have bigger things to think about.
“I'm talking about myself and the culture in the club and the culture in the team. We need to change that.”

He added: “It's a decisive moment in the history of the club. We need to be really strong in the summer and to be brave because we will not have a next season like this.
“If we start like this, if the feeling is still here, we should give the space to different people.”
Amorim has won 39.5% of his matches since his arrival from Sporting CP, although that percentage drops significantly to just 24% when only including Premier League games, and he is already under immense pressure as a result.
Man Utd next manager odds
A number of managers will be linked with the Man Utd job if Amorim opts to leave, or is sacked, but ex-Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho is currently the favourite with the bookies.
Kieran McKenna, Thomas Frank, Xavi and Gareth Southgate also appear prevalently on the bookies’ list of potential new Man Utd managers, although the latter seems an unlikely hire given he has moved away from football coaching since leaving the England national team job after Euro 2024.
