The club's squad will report for pre-season training next week when a number of players will hold talks with newly installed sporting director Dan Ashworth.

Manuel Ugarte monitored by Bayern

It comes after our story that Man Utd face significant competition in the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte.

Sofyan Amrabat has returned to Fiorentina following his loan spell with the Red Devils, while we understand that Casemiro is wanted by numerous Saudi Pro League clubs.

As a result, signing a new central midfielder is one of Man Utd’s priorities this summer and Ugarte is a key target.

However, sources have told us that Ten Hag’s side face competition from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, who are also interested in the Uruguay international as they look to sign a new defensive midfielder.
