Manchester United target Jean-Clair Todibo has made some interesting comments regarding his future.

The Frenchman is one of Europe's most in-demand defenders after establishing himself as a reliable Ligue 1 star at Nice. The INEOS-owned club have boasted one of the stoutest backlines on the continent this term and Todibo has been integral to achieving this.

The centre-back has major suitors around Europe, chief among them Nice's sister club Man Utd. The Red Devils were hot on his trail last summer but ultimately didn't have the budget to pursue an expensive defensive reinforcement.

Man Utd are still said to be interested in the 24-year-old France international and it is expected that Todibo will be on the move this summer, though his final destination is not known yet. According to Fabrizio Romano, the defender won't be astronomically costly, which adds to his attractiveness.

Todibo on his future

Ahead of potentially his final home game for Nice, Todibo spoke at length about his future. "It is potentially my final match but I don’t know what the future has in store for me. I don’t know where I will go," Todibo said, as relayed by GFFN.

“I want to win titles and play in the best European competitions. Those are my objectives. I’d also like to go to a club that will allow me to become better, to allow me to progress on an individual level. That’s what interests me. I am open to joining any league honestly. I watch more or less every league and each one could appeal to me."

"I’m not fixated in terms of what league to join. Could I flourish in the Premier League? Yeah, I think so and I think I could flourish in any league. Is there a possibility that my chances correspond best with the Premier League? There is a chance, yes.”

Todibo admitted that he is thinking about signing for an elite club to improve his chances of becoming a regular for France. “It’s in my head. Going to those kinds of clubs allows you to play in the best European competitions."

"Playing in those European competitions allows you to be seen more and that gives you more guarantees for the France national team. That’s why leaving is in my mind. I think I can go anywhere.”
