Ansu Fati’s catastrophic season has taken another turn for the worse, with the Barcelona star reported to the police by angry neighbours, according to reports from Spain.

The 22-year-old was once tipped as the heir to Lionel Messi at Camp Nou, but following serious injury and the rise of Lamine Yamal, the Spain international star already seems to be a player on the wane.

Ansu has made just 11 appearances across all competitions this season and has regularly been left stewing as a substitute. With no goals or assists to his credit as well as only 298 minutes of pitch time, his career already appears to be in a state of freefall.

OK Diario now reports that Ansu has been in hot water with the authorities as well as his neighbours over his tendency to party late into the night in his penthouse apartment in what is described as another major setback to his prospects of remaining at the club.

“There are late-night parties with girls going until well into the early hours. We’ve got recorded images of them coming and going. We’re desperate. We can’t sleep like this,” neighbours told Spanish outlet ABC.

Ansu is also alleged to have built a small pool or hot tub on the terrace of his accommodation after planning permission was rejected, while numerous Barcelona players have been pictured at the star’s house in images posted on social media by team-mates.

Ansu Fati: What does the future hold?

Although agent Jorge Mendes has suggested that Ansu might yet remain at Barcelona, head coach Hansi Flick has essentially exiled him this season, offering him just three starts, the latest of which ended at half-time when he was hauled off.

Rumours have linked Ansu to fellow LaLiga sides Real Sociedad, Valencia and Sevilla.

From Ansu’s perspective, Sevilla appears to be the favoured destination as it is considered to be the club where he is likeliest to rediscover his best form, even if Valencia and Real Sociedad may be able to offer him a better contract.

One thing’s for sure: Ansu’s neighbours in Barcelona will be delighted to see the back of him.
