What is Portugal's World Cup squad?

Portugal have announced their squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, with Cristiano Ronaldo on course to feature in perhaps his final major international tournament.

Fernando Santos’ side will be looking to get past the last-16 stage of the World Cup for the first time since 2006 in the hopes of lifting the only trophy that Ronaldo has yet to win in his career.

Ronaldo joins fellow Manchester United duo Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes in the squad, along with Wolves trio Jose Sa, Ruben Neves and Matheus Nunes.

Manchester City stars Ruben Dias, Joao Cancelo and Bernardo Silva are also all included in an exciting core, while Joao Palhinha of Fulham rounds off the Premier League representation.

Liverpool forward Diogo Jota misses out through injury and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Renato Sanches is another notable absentee along with the likes of Joao Moutinho and Goncalo Guedes.

Portugal kick off their World Cup campaign on November 24 against Ghana, with Uruguay and South Korea making up the teams in Group H.
