Taiwo Awoniyi, Union Berlin, 2021/22

The 2022 summer transfer window is now open and already there has been some big moves in the Premier League.

With the economic effects of the Coronavirus pandemic subsiding – and with the EPL living in its own bubble anyway – it is set to be another summer where clubs spend hundreds of millions of pounds on new signings.

Man City pipped Liverpool to the 2021/22 Premier League after a titanic tussle and both teams are also going blow to blow in the summer window.

Man City activated Erling Haaland's release clause at Borussia Dortmund but lost veteran Fernandinho on a free transfer, while Pedro Porro has joined Sporting Lisbon permanently.

Liverpool have spent big in beating off numerous rivals to Benfica revelation Darwin Nunez for a club-record fee of £86 million (€100m). They have also signed youngsters Fabio Carvalho from Fulham and Calvin Ramsay from Aberdeen. They did, however, sell club legend Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich.

There is uncertainty at Chelsea after Roman Abramovich was forced to relinquish the club. Chairman Bruce Buck and transfer chief Marina Granovskaia have also left. New owner Todd Boehly will need to splash the cash if they are to try and catch up with City and Liverpool. The Blues have lost both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christiansen to free transfers so will have to buy several new defenders.

FOOTBALLTRANSFERS' MOST VALUABLE PLAYERS IN THE WORLD

Man Utd know they need a transfer revolution if they are to restore their former glories. They have a new manager in Erik ten Hag and will lose Paul Pogba on a free transfer. They have already announced that Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Edinson Cavani, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard are leaving on free transfers after their contracts expired.

Arsenal will continue to build an exciting young team and will spend heavily on at least one, maybe two, top forwards. Gabriel Jesus, Fabio Vieira, Marquinhos and Matt Turner have arrived, while the Gunners have permanently sold Matteo Guendouzi to Marseille and Konstantinos Mavropanos to Stuttgart. Alexandre Lacazette's exit has been confirmed on a free transfer back to Lyon.

Across north London, Antonio Conte demanded that Spurs owner Daniel Levy gave him a huge transfer warchest. Ivan Perisic has joined from Inter on a free transfer, while Fraser Forster has arrived for nothing from Southampton. Yves Bissouma has also joined up from Brighton.

Aston Villa have been busy in the transfer market so far and have already spent £27.9m on Sevilla's Diego Carlos, £18m on the permanent deal for Philippe Coutinho and completed the impressive free transfer signing of Marseille youngster Boubacar Kamara.

Leeds have also opened up their chequebook, spending over £40m on RB Salzburg pair Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen, as well as signing Marc Roca from Bayern Munich.

Meanwhile, West Ham spent big on Rennes centre back Nayef Aguerd, as did Southampton on Bochum's Armel Bella-Kotchap and Nottingham Forest on Taiwo Awoniyi.

Wolves have permanently bought Hee-chan Hwang from Leipzig and sold Rúben Vinagre to Sporting.

This page will be updated regularly to detail every Premier League transfer by every club between now and the end of the summer transfer window, both ins and out.
