Man Utd Transfer News Today: Carrick wants Rogers as Fernandes future 'quite clear'
All the latest Man Utd transfer news in one place, including updates on Morgan Rogers, Bruno Fernandes and Luis Enrique.
Carrick wants Rogers
Michael Carrick has "recommended" that Man Utd sign Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers, as per TEAMtalk.
The Red Devils interim boss worked with the 24-year-old at Middlesbrough and believes that he would be an ideal fit for his system should he be named the club's permanent head coach.
Villa are reluctant sellers, but they may have no choice due to some potential issues with UEFA's spending regulations. If they are to sell Rogers, they want a club-record fee north of the €117.5 million Man City paid for Jack Grealish.
Chelsea are also pushing hard to sign Rogers. Should the Blues win the race, Man Utd would turn their attention to Cole Palmer, who could be tempted to return to Manchester.
Romano: Fernandes future "quite clear"
Bruno Fernandes is keen to stay at Man Utd and play Champions League football with the Red Devils again, according to Fabrizio Romano.
"What I can tell you is that over the last few weeks, the prospect of playing Champions League football again with Manchester United has really made an impact on Bruno Fernandes," Romano explained.
"At the moment, from Saudi Arabia, they still want Bruno. They have wanted him for a long time, from Al-Hilal and before that, too. But Bruno is very tempted by the idea of playing Champions League football with United.
"So Manchester United are optimistic about keeping him for next season. There will be a conversation between Bruno and United at the end of the season, and we will follow that. But for now, the club hope they can keep him and continue with Bruno in the project."
The truth behind the Enrique rumours
Romano has also provided an update on Man Utd's links with PSG boss Luis Enrique, revealing that a senior figure at the club "dreams" of appointing the Spaniard.
"The reality on Luis Enrique and Manchester United is that there is someone internally at United who is a huge fan and dreams of Luis Enrique becoming United manager one day," he said.
"So there is some truth in those reports from the last two or three months, in the sense that some people at United like the idea of Luis Enrique one day managing the club.
"But that is all for now, because at the moment, Luis Enrique is fully focused on PSG and on negotiating his new contract. And on top of that, Manchester United are very happy with the work done by Michael Carrick so far. They are not doubting him."
Agent Maguire?
Man Utd want Harry Maguire to convince England teammate Elliot Anderson of a move to Old Trafford, The Sun claims.
The Red Devils are locked in a fierce battle with Man City for the Nottingham Forest midfielder, and reports suggest that the Cityzens are the favourites to sign Anderson.
However, Man Utd believe that Maguire should put in a good word for the club in a bid to turn Anderson's head and get him to snub a transfer to the Etihad this summer.
