Chelsea Transfer News Today: Rosenior's devastating Spurs raid as 'horror scenario' confirmed
All the latest Chelsea transfer news in one place, including updates on Luka Vuskovic, Said El Mala and Marc Cucurella.
Chelsea want Vuskovic
Chelsea are interested in Tottenham wonderkid Luka Vuskovic, according to CaughtOffside.
The Croatia international is enjoying a remarkable season on loan at Hamburger SV in the Bundesliga and looks increasingly likely to leave Spurs this summer - especially if they suffer relegation - without ever having featured in a competitive game for them.
Barcelona are known to be keen on the 19-year-old centre-back, while Hamburg want to loan him for another season. Now, Chelsea are also looking into a potential deal for their London rivals' golden boy.
El Mala's 'horror scenario'
Chelsea could benefit from Said El Mala's "horror scenario" this summer, according to BILD.
The Koln wonderkid is the subject of interest from both the Blues and Brighton, with the latter already working on a deal since last summer. El Mala is keen to join the Seagulls, but he is wary of a quick agreement because of the uncertain future of head coach Fabian Hurzeler.
The German is under pressure after an underwhelming season and is eyed by Bayer Leverkusen. El Mala wants to work with his compatriot, so agreeing to join Brighton only for Hurzeler to end up leaving would be a "horror scenario" for the youngster.
This could work in Chelsea's favour as they seek to convince the exciting winger to move to Stamford Bridge.
Maresca to poach Cucurella?
Former Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has waxed lyrical about Marc Cucurella while speaking to Mundo Maldini.
"I adore him, adore him," Maresca said. "I think he’s every coach’s dream, he’s a spectacular guy, humble, he works every day, he’s a winner, he wants to win. With me, he has also brought out his goal-scoring side, he scored seven or eight goals he never scored in his life."
His admiration for the Spaniard could prove problematic for Chelsea as Maresca is one of the favourites to succeed Pep Guardiola as manager of Man City, who previously wanted to sign Cucurella. Todd Boehly recently confirmed that he only signed him because Man City also wanted him.
Panichelli deal off?
Strasbourg striker Joaquin Panichelli has suffered a serious knee injury on international duty with Argentina, likely ruling him out beyond this summer.
Chelsea have been linked with a move for their sister club's star striker, but his injury means that a summer move is out of the question for the Blues and any other suitors.
This could, however, be good news for Emmanuel Emegha, Strasbourg's other striker, who has already been signed by Chelsea and who will join up with them in the summer. The signing of Panichelli would have limited his game time.
Fabregas to replace Rosenior?
Reports earlier this week suggested that Liam Rosenior is safe at Chelsea for the time being, but Indykaila now claims that a change could be made this summer.
The Blues hierarchy has been assessing the team's performances under the new head coach and come to the conclusion that the current set-up simply is not working. The search for a replacement has begun, it is asserted.
Como boss Cesc Fabregas has been touted as a potential successor for Rosenior, but the Serie A side's sporting director Carlalberto Ludi insists that he is not worried about the Spaniard being lured away.
"Given what we can offer him, we're not worried about him leaving us right now," he said. “There's a complete alignment between Cesc's ambitions and those of the club. We're constantly making more resources available to work as best we can. Until something happens that we can't control, we'll move forward together."
