Exclusive: Morgan Rogers told to reject Chelsea transfer

Rogers signed a new six-year contract at Villa Park back in November, but rumours have hinted that Chelsea are ready to rekindle their interest in his signature this summer as they look to bolster the attacking options available to Liam Rosenior.

However, former England international Chris Waddle believes that Rogers should reject any transfer offers this summer in favour of remaining at Aston Villa for the foreseeable future.

Speaking to FootballTransfers on behalf of 10bet, Waddle admitted: “I’m a big fan of Rogers. His work rate is good as well and he's always available. He's played so much football.

“Villa are still going the right way, they're still pushing for the Champions League, they've got a chance of winning trophies, but as we've seen with many clubs over the years, sometimes they may think: ‘We've ran out of money, we need more money,’ so they sell their best player.

“But at the minute, I don't see any reason why he needs to leave. He’s got a good manager, a great team, he's playing well and he should be the player behind Harry Kane for me.”

Fernandez ‘not for sale’

Chelsea insist that Enzo Fernandez is not for sale this summer, Sky Sports reports.

The Argentina international caused a stir when he cast doubt on his Chelsea future after the club's Champions League humiliation by PSG, and it is thought that he dreams of joining Real Madrid after this season.

However, Chelsea consider Fernandez virtually untouchable and are adamant that any deal would require a fee in excess of €116m (£100m). He is still under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2032.

Acheampong sale ruled out

Chelsea reportedly have no intention of allowing Josh Acheampong to depart the club this summer, despite rumoured interest from multiple top European teams.

The England U21 international has fallen down the pecking order since Mamadou Sarr’s return from a loan spell at Strasbourg in February and this has ignited fresh reports that he could be sold on a permanent deal by the Stamford Bridge hierarchy.

Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool, Newcastle United and Real Madrid are all understood to be monitoring Acheampong’s situation in west London, as per CaughtOffside, and it’s claimed that offers of just €30 million could test Chelsea’s resolve.

However, Football Insider have confirmed that Liam Rosenior’s side have no interest in selling Acheampong this summer. Instead, they intend to hand him a more prominent role in the senior side next season.

Chelsea eye 'new Cherki'

Chelsea are ready to raid Marseille for their latest teenage sensation after launching a move for 16-year-old forward Said Remadnia.

The tricky winger shot to the top of the Blues' wishlist following a string of standout displays in the UEFA Youth League, where he racked up three goal involvements in seven games and has been dubbed by some as 'the new Rayan Cherki'.

Stamford Bridge chiefs have reportedly put a five-year contract on the table but, due to post-Brexit rules, the deal wouldn’t officially trigger until Remadnia celebrates his 18th birthday in March 2027.

Under the club's "vision 2030" strategy, the youngster would initially link up with the Under-21s before being fast-tracked into the senior setup, while Chelsea have offered to help relocate his family in order to sweeten the deal, according to The Sun.

However, Marseille are determined to keep hold of their academy crown jewel and the player’s camp is currently stalling to see if any other European heavyweights enter the fray.

Chelsea eyeing Milan defender

Chelsea have reportedly put Milan defender Strahinja Pavlovic on their shortlist to sign this summer after an impressive season with the Serie A giants.

The 24-year-old has emerged as a key player this year for Milan and reports in Italy have claimed that Chelsea are in contact with Pavlovic’s entourage over a move.

Milan have no desire to sell their star defender but they could be open to a deal if they could double the €20m they spent on the Serbian in 2024.
