Man Utd in Fermin domino?

Man Utd are interested in Barcelona attacker Fermin Lopez and are prepared to pay as much as €100 million for the 22-year-old, reports in Spain claim.

While the Spaniard is understood to be reluctant to leave the Blaugrana, this deal could, in turn, enable the LaLiga giants to re-sign former academy prospect Xavi Simons from Tottenham.

Fermin hasn't always been a guaranteed starter due to the high-profile options at Hansi Flick's disposal, so Man Utd could try to tempt him away with the promise of regular game time.

Casemiro agreement

Casemiro has announced that he will leave Man Utd at the end of the season, but there is a clause in his contract that entitles him to a one-year extension if he starts 35 games this term, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Because of this, the decision to part ways was not as simple as telling the club that he would leave. It required an agreement between the two parties in January that essentially saw Casemiro forfeit the right to this extension.

As a result, interim boss Michael Carrick has been able to freely use the veteran midfielder without the threat of accidentally extending his hefty contract by a further season.

Man Utd's summer shortlist

Sky Sports has confirmed that Everton winger Iliman Ndiaye features on Man Utd's shortlist for the summer.

The Senegal international is one of numerous players eyed by the Red Devils. RB Leipzig wonderkid Yan Diomande is another winger currently under consideration.

Man Utd's well-documented interest in Elliot Anderson, Carlos Baleba, Joao Gomes and Adam Wharton was also corroborated, with the outlet also confirming that Newcastle left-back Lewis Hall is a target.

Guimaraes links played down

Man Utd's supposed interest in Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes is not as concrete as has been claimed, according to Andy Mitten of The Athletic.

He believes that the frequent links in the media originate from the player's camp amid potential negotiations over a new contract with the Magpies. "I saw the Bruno Guimaraes story recently. I have not heard anything from my sources on that," he said.

"I was up in Newcastle last week and I didn’t hear anything there. I suspect, but cannot prove, that it is coming more from his side in regards to negotiating a new contract."

Man Utd interested in Lukeba

RB Leipzig defender Castello Lukeba is fielding interest from Man Utd, as per Sport Witness.

The Frenchman is keen to leave the Bundesliga side this summer, and his preferred destination is the Premier League. Arsenal and Liverpool are also said to be interested.

Lukeba has an €80m release clause, but it is believed that Leipzig could be convinced to sell for a fee in the region of €60m-€70m. If they miss out on Champions League qualification, they will need to sell the centre-back to balance the books.

Carrick to keep his job

Interim boss Michael Carrick is now the firm favourite to be named Man Utd's next permanent head coach, the Manchester Evening Post reports.

While the Red Devils have yet to make a firm decision on their future manager, it is believed that Carrick has outperformed most of the other options that are being considered for the job.

With some interesting options, such as Julian Nagelsmann, not available before the World Cup, Man Utd chiefs feel that Carrick could be the safest bet this summer.
