Exclusive: Arsenal sent Tonali warning

Speaking exclusively to FootballTransfers, Newcastle legend Chris Waddle has questioned whether Arsenal really need Sandro Tonali.

The Gunners explored a move for the Italy late in the January transfer window, and it is understood that they remain interested in the Magpies star ahead of the summer.

However, Waddle believes that Tonali is too similar to Declan Rice for a move to the Emirates to really make sense. "He's a good age and I'm not surprised there's a lot of clubs interested in him," he explained.

"He's a very economical player, he's a little bit like Declan Rice, let's be honest, he’s very consistent with his pass ratio, he's got a good shot and he's got a good engine. In my mind, he's a very similar player to Declan Rice, though. Do Arsenal really need another player like that?"

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Eintracht Frankfurt are expecting offers for talented midfielder Hugo Larsson this summer.

The Sweden international has been highly rated from a young age and has impressed at Frankfurt, though this season has been difficult for him and his teammates.

Arsenal are long-standing admirers of the 21-year-old and could potentially be involved in the battle to sign him this summer. The Gunners are known to be in the market for a young midfielder.

Arsenal interested in Diomande

Arsenal are among the clubs interested in signing RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, Football.London has confirmed.

The Premier League leaders are one of numerous European giants keeping tabs on the Ivory Coast international, who has been one of the breakout stars of the current Bundesliga season.

Diomande is likely to cost €100 million this summer, but Arsenal are expected to bring in a new winger after this season. The 19-year-old is one of the top options for that department.

Arsenal monitoring Hall

Arsenal, Liverpool and Man Utd are monitoring Newcastle full-back Lewis Hall, TEAMtalk claims.

The 21-year-old is enjoying a rich vein of form at the moment and is drawing interest from various elite Premier League sides, including the Gunners. However, Newcastle do not want to sell this summer.

Arsenal are well-stocked in the left-back department, but Myles Lewis-Skelly is understood to be frustrated with his lack of action this term and could be on the way out once the season concludes.

Arsenal should sell Odegaard

Former Premier League star Joe Cole believes that Arsenal should sell Martin Odegaard and sign PSG winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

"If they win one trophy they might really kick on. Even already, if you look at what they're planning for next year, you hear they’re talking about trying to sign Kvaratskhelia from PSG. Imagine putting him in this Arsenal team," he said on The Dressing Room podcast.

"The only problem Arsenal might have is when the contracts are up because I’m looking at a few of those boys and they will want top dollar. Declan [Rice], Gabriel [Magalhaes], [William] Saliba. They will all want Real Madrid money. I think they might let Martin Odegaard go, but they have the luxury to do that now."
