Robert Lewandowski update

Robert Lewandowski’s future is yet to be decided and Romano has confirmed that his agent is now exploring a potential summer transfer, despite the fact he could sign a new deal at Barcelona.

The transfer reporter told his YouTube channel: “Let me start with confirmation on Robert Lewandowski and his future. In recent days, I told you that FC Barcelona have the possibility to extend his contract by one more season. This option is real, but no final decision has been made yet.

“What his agent, Pini Zahavi, is doing is exploring several options to present to the player. These include staying at Barcelona for another season, moving to Major League Soccer, where there is concrete interest, as well as proposals from Saudi Arabia and other European clubs.

“Today, Lewandowski confirmed that nothing has changed regarding his contract with Barcelona. He said he will take time to sit down and consider all options for his future, which is exactly in line with the information I shared earlier."

Tottenham next manager latest

Tottenham Hotspur remain embroiled in a relegation battle following a 3-0 loss to Nottingham Forest, but they have already sounded out two potential permanent managers if they stay in the Premier League.

“Before discussing candidates, a quick mention for Igor Tudor, who is going through a very difficult personal moment after the passing of his father. Our thoughts are with him during this time,” Romano said.

“Now, regarding Tottenham, there have been many questions about Roberto De Zerbi. Reports in England today mention him as a candidate for the summer, but this is not new information.

“As I have said several times, De Zerbi and Mauricio Pochettino are the two main names for the permanent managerial role. De Zerbi could be the easier option because he is currently available, while Pochettino is fully focused on his role with the United States men's national team ahead of the World Cup.

“De Zerbi remains a strong candidate for Tottenham, but this is strictly a discussion for the summer. It is not a topic for now. Everything also depends on Tottenham remaining in the Premier League, as relegation would completely change the situation.”

Antoine Griezmann to Orlando City

A full agreement has been reached for Atletico Madrid superstar Antoine Griezmann to join Orlando City on a Bosman deal.

“Here we go for Antoine Griezmann to Orlando City SC. The deal is done and fully agreed between all parties,” Romano revealed.

“As I told you previously, the initial idea was for Griezmann to move in March while the MLS transfer window was open, but both the player and Atletico Madrid decided to continue together until the end of the season due to important matches, including domestic and European competitions.

“However, discussions continued for a summer move, and now the agreement has been reached. During the international break, Griezmann travelled to the United States to finalise the deal and sign his contract.

“It is a two-year agreement, with the player set to wear the number seven shirt. Orlando City worked extensively on this deal, with multiple trips to Madrid to make it happen.

“From next season, Antoine Griezmann will play in Major League Soccer with Orlando City. This is a major move and a significant story in the market.”

Enzo Fernandez links

Romano has previously suggested that Enzo Fernandez could leave Chelsea this summer, however talks with Real Madrid are yet to begin.

“Let me also update you on Enzo Fernandez,” the transfer expert began. “He has rejoined the Argentina national team and, when asked about his future, he made it clear that his full focus is on Chelsea FC and upcoming matches.

“At the moment, there is no agreement over a new contract between the player and Chelsea. If an important opportunity arises, a summer move cannot be ruled out, but Chelsea remain in control. He is under a long-term contract, is a crucial player, and the club invested significant money to sign him.

“Regarding links with Real Madrid, Enzo Fernandez has stated that there are no talks. This is accurate, as there are currently no negotiations or concrete discussions.

“Real Madrid have not yet made a final decision on which midfielder they want to sign. They are internally discussing options, which is completely normal, but no specific move has been initiated. This is why there is no contact at this stage.”

Vinicius Jr set for new contract

Finally, Romano has confirmed that Real Madrid are set to agree a new contract with Vinicius Junior following his impressive form in recent weeks.

“On Vinicius Junior, the situation remains very clear. Florentino Pérez is fully committed to extending the player’s contract and wants him to stay at Real Madrid,” Romano admitted.

“The relationship between the president and the player is excellent, and the club have already presented a contract proposal. Real Madrid are pushing strongly to reach an agreement as soon as possible.

“This is now a negotiation phase, with discussions ongoing, but the intention from the club side has always been consistent. Florentino Perez wants Vinícius Junior to remain at Real Madrid, and that position has not changed. So we will continue to follow the situation closely.”
