OFFICIAL: Chelsea confirm first Deadline Day transfer
Chelsea have officially confirmed the departure of academy star Yahya Idrissi to AC Milan on a permanent deal.
The versatile attacker joined Chelsea from West Ham United’s academy at the age of 11 and he signed his first professional contract with the Blues last year.
However, he hasn’t featured in a single matchday squad for Chelsea’s U18 side since the opening game of the 2025-26 season, and he has now completed a permanent move to Serie A giants Milan.
In an official statement posted on Chelsea’s club website, the Blues said: “Yahya Idrissi has completed a permanent transfer to Serie A club AC Milan.
“The versatile forward joined our Academy from West Ham United aged 11 and was developed through the youth ranks at Cobham.
“Idrissi was heavily involved in our Under-17 Premier League Cup win during the 2023/24 campaign and made his Under-18s debut that season, scoring once in four appearances.
“He continued to feature for our Under-18s in the 2024/25 campaign, during which the Morocco youth international signed his first professional contract with the Blues.
“We thank Yahya for his efforts throughout his time in our Academy and wish him well as he begins a new chapter in his career.”
Chelsea’s Deadline Day plans
Idrissi is the first of several players set to leave Chelsea before the 2026 winter transfer window slams shut at 19:00 BST on Monday evening.
A full agreement has been reached for Tyrique George to join Everton on loan with an option to buy, while Strasbourg are set to complete the loan signing of David Datro Fofana until the end of the 2025-26 season.
In addition, Axel Disasi is also close to leaving Stamford Bridge on loan and a medical has been scheduled with West Ham United.
In regards to incomings, Chelsea are set to recall Mamadou Sarr from his loan spell at Strasbourg after missing out on Stade Rennais centre-back Jeremy Jacquet to Liverpool.
