Fabrizio Romano Transfer News: NEW Man Utd target, Alonso REPLACEMENT, Salah UPDATE

Football transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano has dropped a major update on several key stories ahead of the January window, including the latest on Tyler Adams, Xabi Alonso and Mohamed Salah.
Takehiro Tomiyasu to Ajax
Japan defender Takehiro Tomiyasu has been in talks with Ajax over a Bosman move and Romano has now confirmed that a full agreement has been reached.
“Takehiro Tomiyasu, the former Arsenal right-back, is joining Ajax on a free transfer. It’s a ‘Here We Go’,” he said in his latest YouTube video.
“A medical is scheduled for Tuesday for Tomiyasu and we will wait for the medical because Tomiyasu suffered several injuries in recent years, and this was the reason why he left Arsenal by mutual consent during the summer transfer window. But now he’s ready to join Ajax on a short-term contract until the end of the season.”

Thiago Silva wants Europe return
Meanwhile, Brazil legend Thiago Silva is reportedly keen to return to Europe following the expiration of his contract at Fluminense.
“Thiago Silva has decided to leave Fluminense with immediate effect and to try a new European chapter. He is going back to Europe to be closer to his family,” Romano revealed.
“Thiago Silva will be a free agent with imminent effect, available in January like Sergio Ramos. So watch out for Thiago, because he’s leaving Fluminense and my information is that Europe is going to be the destination - more than Saudi, more than MLS, more than other Brazilian clubs. This is the plan.”
Xabi Alonso replacement
Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso has been heavily linked with the sack amid a poor run of results, although Romano has confirmed that he remains safe for now. If he is dismissed, Alvaro Arbeloa could be sounded out as his replacement.
“Real Madrid beat Alaves and Xabi Alonso, at the moment, stays as Real Madrid coach,” Romano said. “The situation remains one to watch in the upcoming games and in the upcoming weeks, I would say.
“Real Madrid won the game and that was the most important part. The reaction from the players was very clear. Rodrygo is doing well again, assist by Vinicius, goal by Mbappe, assist by Bellingham, so good messages from Real Madrid. But at the same time, from the club, they want to see exactly the same in Copa del Rey and in La Liga again with Sevilla. And then there is the Spanish Super Cup, considered a really crucial moment.
“So in these games, Xabi Alonso must give confirmation of this change in results at Real Madrid. This remains the situation. Xabi Alonso, for now, is safe, but the next games remain crucial to see what’s going to happen and if the results will continue to be positive. This is the situation. He remains under scrutiny at Real Madrid, reacting in terms of results. It was an important win, not easy against Alaves, but at the same time Real Madrid want to see the same kind of results also in the upcoming weeks.”
Romano continued: “Many questions coming from you guys on Jurgen Klopp and on Zinedine Zidane. From what I’m hearing, eventually, if things change, the name I’m hearing is Alvaro Arbeloa, who is already at Real Madrid, as one of the options in case the Xabi Alonso chapter will be over in the next weeks.
“But I think Xabi deserves a lot of respect. He must be given the opportunity to show his skills as a coach. He just arrived a few months ago at Real Madrid. So let him work, let him prove his value, and then we will see. But to answer the questions on Zidane and Klopp, my information is that eventually the favourite could be Arbeloa.”
Mohamed Salah update
Mohamed Salah’s future remains a hot topic in the football transfer world and Romano clarified that talks are scheduled to take place between his agent and Liverpool.
He revealed: “Many of you are asking what’s next now with Mohamed Salah. Mo is traveling for AFCON, so he will not be available for the next few weeks for Liverpool. What’s going to happen is that Mo Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas, will be in England to have conversations with Liverpool management and to discuss Mo’s situation.
“After Mo was out of the squad against Brentford, after Mo came back against Brighton, entering in the first half and delivering an assist, breaking another record and showing his quality once again, now it’s time for Mo Salah and his agent to talk to the club and to take a decision together on what’s going to happen next.
“Again guys, I maintain my information on what Liverpool believe. Liverpool say: ‘We are not in a hurry to sell Salah, to find a solution for Salah. If he wants to stay in these conditions, we are more than happy.’
“If he wants to go, Liverpool say: ‘Okay, bring a proposal to the table, show us the proposal, let us know what you have for us.’
“But at the moment, no official proposals, apart from Saudi interest, have arrived on Liverpool’s table for Salah. This is why there is going to be this meeting with his agent, to understand how to move forward in the next few weeks.”
Tyler Adams to Man Utd?
Finally, Romano confirmed recent reports that state Tyler Adams has been earmarked as a possible new signing by the Manchester United hierarchy.
“On Tyler Adams, from what I’m told, he is one of the names Man Utd are monitoring, but he is not the only one because there are several players on the list.
“There are two separate lists. There are top, top targets like Carlos Baleba, Joao Neves and Adam Wharton - players considered top targets but very difficult, very unlikely for January, maybe more realistic for the summer. For January, it could be more about opportunities.
