Arsenal 'captivated' by €100m star as Romano confirms talks
Arsenal are 'captivated' by Juventus superstar Kenan Yildiz, according to Italian media.
The Turkey international continues to make headlines in the Italian press as his contract talks with Juventus remain at an impasse. Although Yildiz is still tied to the Turin giants until 2029, the fact that they are struggling to reach an agreement is seen as worrying for the Old Lady.
Yildiz, whose affairs are handled by Jorge Mendes even though he is not formally his agent, is said to be demanding a huge pay rise, which Juventus are so far unwilling to grant.
Talks have ground to a halt in recent times, but transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has revealed that a new round of discussions is slated to take place within the next two weeks.
The Italian has repeatedly insisted that Chelsea are the club most interested in potentially poaching Yildiz from Juventus. However, Corriere dello Sport reports that Arsenal are also 'captivated' by the 20-year-old.
Arsenal want Yildiz
The youngster is far from a new target for the Gunners. When Edu was still in charge of recruitment at the Emirates, the German-born attacker was constantly being monitored.
Arsenal were already keeping tabs on Yildiz when he was impressing in Bayern Munich's academy before joining Juventus in 2022. The appreciation for the wonderkid has never disappeared.
The North London giants are fully informed about the current situation and the difficulties Juventus are having in agreeing fresh terms with the player.
Contact with the player's camp has been made, and Arsenal are waiting for the outcome of this new round of talks between Yildiz and Juventus to get a clearer idea about whether a move, potentially as early as 2026, could be possible.
