Arsenal bombshell: Real Madrid ready to accept €100m transfer
Real Madrid are ready to sell Brazil winger Rodrygo next year amid his record-equalling goal drought.
The 24-year-old was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League this summer, with Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur all interested, but a transfer failed to materialise - largely due to his desire to prove himself at the Bernabeu.
However, Rodrygo has fallen out of favour under new boss Xabi Alonso and he has only started four out of a possible 19 games in La Liga and the Champions League so far this season.
Vinicius Junior, Kylian Mbappe, Brahim Diaz and summer signing Franco Mastantuono have all been favoured ahead of Rodrygo this term, with the Brazilian forced to accept a rotation role.
Furthermore, his cameo appearance against Girona on Sunday means he has now gone 30 club games without a goal - the joint-worst record of any forward in Real Madrid’s history, alongside Mariano Diaz.
The last time Rodrygo found the back of the net was during a 2-1 win over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League round of 16 first-leg back in March. His most recent La Liga strike came against Las Palmas on 19 January.
Rodrygo to leave Real Madrid?
As a result of his concerning form, Real Madrid are now willing to accept offers for Rodrygo next year, as confirmed by The Athletic and several Spanish outlets.
Los Blancos set their asking price at €100 million over the summer, but it remains to be seen if they will lower their valuation of the Brazil international amid his ongoing goal drought.
Arsenal added Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke to their ranks this summer, however reports have stated that Rodrygo remains on their radar and Mikel Arteta’s side could look to finalise a deal in 2026 as they look to add further attacking reinforcements.
Man City and Tottenham, meanwhile, may also rekindle their interest in the Real Madrid star given the Spanish giants are now open to a sale.
