Chelsea Transfer News Today: Lucrative offer made as Victor Osimhen demands move
All the latest Chelsea transfer news in one place, including updates on Victor Osimhen, Mike Maignan and Pablo Barrios.
Osimhen becomes sporting director
Chelsea have been tipped to reignite their long-standing interest in Galatasaray superstar Victor Osimhen, but the latest reports suggest that the Nigerian is planning to stay in Turkey long-term.
Osimhen is said to be demanding that Galatasaray sign his compatriot Ademola Lookman, who remains keen to leave Atalanta after having a transfer blocked in consecutive summers.
Atalanta are willing to sell the Nigerian in January, but they want to receive at least €50 million. Osimhen's desire to build a team in his image at Galatasaray suggests that he is not looking to leave in 2026.
Milan make Maignan offer
AC Milan are still hoping to convince Mike Maignan to sign a contract extension after he had his head turned by Chelsea in the summer. At the time, the two clubs couldn't agree a fee, and the Blues left the talks.
It has been widely expected that Maignan would leave the Rossoneri as a free agent in 2026, but he is currently performing better than ever, which is why Milan are trying to restart contract discussions.
An 'unusually' lucrative offer is on the table for the shot-stopper, but it remains unclear if he is willing to consider an extension following the news that Chelsea may have to dip into the market for a new goalkeeper as Filip Jorgensen is requesting a January move.
Chelsea scout Ouedraogo
Chelsea and Man Utd are two of the numerous Premier League clubs that are 'crazy' about RB Leipzig midfielder Assan Ouedraogo, who recently scored his first goal for the senior Germany team.
Chelsea have been scouting Ouedraogo extensively in recent months, but the 19-year-old is not entertaining a transfer at present as his focus is on making Germany's World Cup squad.
Ouedraogo was a breakthrough prospect at Schalke in 2023/24, but injuries have since hampered his development. Shortly after the news of Chelsea's interest broke, it was revealed that he would be sidelined for up to seven weeks.
Chelsea keen on Barrios
Chelsea remain interested in Atletico Madrid midfielder Pablo Barrios, who has been linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge several times over the past few months.
Barrios has developed into one of LaLiga's standout midfielders in recent times, and Chelsea are looking to pounce, although they face competition from Liverpool.
Chelsea are now said to be ready to step up their pursuit of the €90 million-rated Spaniard. This could spell bad news for Andrey Santos, who appears to have finally arrived at Stamford Bridge after his brilliant performance at the weekend.
