Over the summer, Arsenal also rewarded Leandro Trossard and goalkeeper David Raya with a pay increase, although their contract lengths did not change. Next up on the agenda are fresh terms for star winger Bukayo Saka and right-back Jurrien Timber.

The latter was recently hailed as the best full-back in the Premier League, and it has been known for some time that the Netherlands international is keen on signing a new deal with the table-topping Gunners. Now, Saka is also on the verge of committing his long-term future to Arsenal.

New contract for Saka close, Rice up next

According to the BBC and confirmed by transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are making major progress in talks with Saka, who has become one of the best attackers in world football under Mikel Arteta's stewardship.

The England international's Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) has skyrocketed north of €100 million since 2022. Due to his injury problems over the past year, Saka's ETV is currently down to €105m from a previous peak of €127.5m.

BBC reporter Sami Mokbel believes that tying Saka down to an extension could be the most crucial of this recent flurry of contract signings, but he and Timber won't be the last players to be handed new deals in the near future.

Mokbel reports that Declan Rice isn't too far away from being given improved terms either, as he has less than three years remaining on the deal he signed when he joined in a then-British record €116.6 million transfer from West Ham in 2023.
