Red Bull's Head of Global Soccer Jurgen Klopp hired a scout specifically for coaches over the summer, according to German media.

The legendary former Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool manager has been operating in his new role in the Red Bull cosmos since the start of the year.

Klopp ended his hiatus from football early to take up Red Bull's offer of becoming the energy drinks empire's Head of Global Soccer, allowing him to finally move into an upper management role, which is something he had been flirting with for a while.

The German had grown tired of the hustle and bustle of personally leading a team and wanted to broaden his horizons. Of course, his decision to join Red Bull saw him face fierce criticism in his home country due to RB Leipzig's unpopularity.

The Saxon outfit are the crown jewel of the Red Bull network, but Klopp is also in charge of the other clubs linked to the Austrian company, such as RB Salzburg, the New York Red Bulls, RB Bragantino and the two most recent acquisitions, RB Omiya Ardija and Paris FC.

Klopp hires coaching scout

BILD reports that Klopp decided to make a very interesting hire over the summer by bringing in a scout specifically for coaches, with the idea of streamlining the process of appointing new tacticians at Red Bull's clubs.

RB Leipzig sacked Klopp's former player Marco Rose already during the previous season, but it wasn't until 24 June that they managed to unveil Ole Werner as their new head coach after having an approach for Cesc Fabregas rejected by Como.

Klopp's long-time friend and former Mainz teammate Jurgen Kramny has been hired, specifically with the task of identifying potential coaches for Red Bull's various teams to avoid lengthy delays in the future.

"Coaches, for example, are only ever quickly scouted when they are needed," Klopp recently told WELT. "But why is no one considering coach X, who reached twelfth place with a team that anyone else might have been relegated with? Because we don't look closely enough."

Such an appointment could also be of interest to Klopp's former club Liverpool, who themselves are seeking to build a multi-club network. Reds owners FSG have reportedly done due diligence on as many as 25 clubs and are expected to make a decision on acquiring a new outfit soon.
