Bayern Munich chief Uli Hoeness has been accused of lying about the details of Nicolas Jackson’s loan move from Chelsea.

The 73-year-old recently hit the headlines when he claimed that Jackson will “definitely not” join Vincent Kompany’s side on a permanent deal next summer, despite initial reports claiming that a standard obligation-to-buy clause was included in the loan deal.

Hoeness has revealed that Bayern will only be forced to sign Jackson permanently if he starts at least 40 games during the 2025-26 season and he has stated that this “will never happen.”

The Bayern honorary president also claimed that Jackson and his agent contributed €3m to the Senegal star’s €16.5m loan fee, meaning Bayern have only paid €13.5m to sign the 24-year-old for one season.

However, The Telegraph’s Matt Law, who specialises in Chelsea transfer news, has disputed such claims.

During an appearance on the London is Blue podcast, Law said: “What Hoeness said that’s definitely wrong is that Jackson & his agents paid €3 million to make it happen.

“I’m told that Jackson and his agents gave up around €1.5 million.” He added: “There is a condition around 40 appearances - the doubt is if it’s 40 starts or 40 appearances.”

Nicolas Jackson unveiled by Bayern

Jackson completed his loan move to Bayern on Transfer Deadline Day, before immediately jetting off for international duty with Senegal.

As a result, his official unveiling was scheduled for 12 September and he is in line to face his parent club Chelsea when Bayern host the Blues in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

UEFA rules state that loan players are eligible to face their parent club in European competitions, unlike in the Premier League, and Jackson could therefore feature versus Enzo Maresca’s side.

During an official press conference following his unveiling, Jackson said: “I'm really happy to be here and train with the team. I know a few players and can hardly wait for the games to start.

“We're playing against Chelsea and lots of friends on Wednesday. I'm looking forward to seeing them again and want to win the game.”
