Chelsea have sought to take control of Enzo Fernandez’s future by providing Manchester City with a deadline by which to make an offer for the midfielder.

FootballTransfers understands that Fernandez has already agreed personal terms with City and, according to The Athletic, Chelsea have told Enzo Maresca’s side that an official €140 million bid for the player must be lodged by 5pm on 14 August for any deal to be considered.

Chelsea have reportedly told both City and Enzo Fernandez’s representatives of this development, while the player’s agent has been aware of the price on his head since May.

Landon Emenalo to Celtic meeting

Celtic have opened talks with Chelsea over a deal to sign left-back Landon Emenalo.

Emenalo was in Glasgow on Wednesday for a meeting with the Hoops hierarchy over a possible transfer, according to Sky Sports.

The Herald reports that the Parkhead outfit are closing in on a one-year temporary deal, with Sky Sports ultimately agreeing that the agreement will be in the form of a loan.

Emenalo was spotted at Celtic’s Lennoxtown training ground on Wednesday, suggesting the move is close.

Nicolas Jackson update

Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson is reportedly open to reuniting with former Villarreal boss Unai Emery at Aston Villa this summer.

The Senegal striker has returned to Chelsea following a season-long loan spell at Bayern Munich, but he has been heavily linked with a permanent Stamford Bridge exit before Deadline Day, despite his form in pre-season.

Villa were interested in securing the 25-year-old’s signature last summer they have now rekindled their interest in a transfer, as confirmed by transfer reporter Nicolo Schira, who posted on X: “Talks are progressing well for Nicolas Jackson to Aston Villa from Chelsea.

“The striker has already given his availability to join Aston Villa. Unai Emery loves him and [is] pushing to re-have him after the positive experience together at Villarreal.”

However, The Sun report that Jackson is open to remaining at Chelsea and fighting for his place under Xabi Alonso.

Liam Delap asking price

Chelsea have set their asking price for Liam Delap at a whopping €58m (£50m), according to a report from The Evening Standard now report that Delap’s asking price has been set at a whopping €58m (£50m).

The Blues are keen to offload Delap on a permanent deal before Deadline Day following an underwhelming debut campaign at Stamford Bridge and several Premier League clubs are interested in pursuing a deal, including Everton and Nottingham Forest.

However, Chelsea want to turn a major profit on the striker, who cost €35.5m last summer.

Benoit Badiashile talks

Chelsea and Napoli have held fresh talks over a summer deal for Benoit Badiashile, as per Nicolo Schira.

The Frenchman has already agreed personal terms with Napoli and discussions over an initial loan deal are ongoing, with the two clubs at odds over the option-to-buy clause.

Chelsea want the fee set at €30m, while Napoli have offered €20m as things stand.

JJ Gabriel wanted

Manchester United are concerned that they could lose JJ Gabriel to Chelsea and are working on a deal to try and secure the future of their brightest wonderkid.

Gabriel has been touted as one of the highest-rated youngsters to ever come out of United’s academy and the 15-year-old has already been training with the first team on a regular basis.

Gabriel is eligible to sign scholarship terms when he turns 16 in October and United are hoping to go a step further by putting a pre-contract in place for professional terms that can be penned when he turns 17.

However, Gabriel is regarded as one of the biggest talents of his age in world football, which has attracted interest from the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and, most aggressively, Chelsea.

TEAMtalk claim that Chelsea are Gabriel’s strongest suitors and, with the forward able to be poached until he turns professional, United are desperate to ensure that they do everything possible to keep the youngster at Old Trafford.
