Man Utd striker transfer only a matter of time as €84m star will move
Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee is being monitored by Juventus as a potential replacement for Dusan Vlahovic, according to Italian media.
The Dutchman has failed to impress at Old Trafford and was the subject of frequent speculation last season. Having joined from Bologna, where he had enjoyed a brilliant 2023/24 campaign, he is still held in high regard in Italy.
Several Serie A clubs were linked with Zirkzee in January, but no move ultimately materialised, with Man Utd deciding to give the 24-year-old more time to acclimatise to Premier League football.
However, Zirkzee has been able to show very little of the form that once made him one of Europe's most sought-after forwards, and Ruben Amorim clearly doesn't see him as a player capable of starting for Man Utd.
He was kept around in the summer to make up the numbers following the exit of Rasmus Hojlund, but to no one's surprise, the first transfer rumours are already starting to abound.
Juventus want Zirkzee
According to Tuttosport, Juventus are keeping tabs on Zirkzee as he is one of several names on their shortlist to replace Dusan Vlahovic, who is almost certain to leave the club next summer.
The Serbia international's contract is up in 2026, and an extension would be a huge shock. Given that Vlahovic has shown no inclination to reduce his current terms - he is Serie A's best-paid player - it seems pretty much guaranteed that he will leave Turin as an €84 million flop.
Juventus' priority target to replace Vlahovic is Atalanta wantaway Ademola Lookman, but Zirkzee also features prominently on the Bianconeri's shortlist.
The Dutchman has plenty of admirers who believe that his career can be revived if he leaves the graveyard of talent that Old Trafford has been over the past decade.
TEAMtalk claims that Man Utd will look to bring in a back-up striker to Benjamin Sesko next year, which would pave the way for the sale of Zirkzee.
