Chelsea fan favourite involved in major transfer battle
Chelsea fan favourite Ruben Loftus-Cheek could be set to secure a return to the Premier League amid reported interest from both Aston Villa and West Ham United.
The Englishman, who was recently included in Thomas Tuchel’s squad during the September international break, has just under two years remaining on his current contract at AC Milan and he is now attracting significant transfer interest.
That is according to CaughtOffside, who claim that Aston Villa and West Ham are both seriously weighing up a potential bid during the January transfer window.
Newcastle United are also reportedly keeping tabs on Loftus-Cheek, however Eddie Howe’s side are yet to solidify their interest and are currently outsiders to secure his signature in 2026.
Milan are ready to enter into negotiations with Loftus-Cheek over his future at the club and it’s understood that a sale could take place if the Rossoneri decide against offering the ex-Chelsea star a new long-term contract at San Siro.
Loftus-Cheek, who was a fan favourite during his time at Chelsea, has racked up 73 appearances for Milan, scoring 11 goals, while he has started three of their opening four Serie A matches so far this season.
Juventus to compete for Ruben Loftus-Cheek
While Villa and West Ham are both eager to add Loftus-Cheek to their ranks next year, they will face competition from Serie A giants Juventus, with Igor Tudor’s side also interested in the 29-year-old, according to Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb.
Juventus sanctioned the permanent sales of Nicolo Rovella, Nicolo Fagioli and Hans Nicolussi Caviglia over the summer, and it’s understood that Loftus-Cheek is viewed as a player capable of bolstering the midfield options at Tudor’s disposal.
The former Chelsea star has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of just €8.4 million and Milan could potentially be tempted to offload him in January if it becomes apparent that he is unlikely to pen a new contract.
