Decision made! Romano reveals if Rodrygo will complete €100m Man City move
Manchester City will not sell Savinho to Tottenham this summer, which means that Real Madrid superstar Rodrygo won't be moving to the Etihad, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Savinho has emerged as a top target for Spurs in recent weeks, with Thomas Frank keen to add creativity to his side following James Maddison's ACL injury.
The Brazilian winger is open to joining Tottenham, but he hasn't been actively agitating for a move away from Man City. After having an opening bid rejected, Spurs informed their Premier League rivals that they would be willing to pay more than €70 million for Savinho.
However, Fabrizio Romano now reports that Man City have communicated to Tottenham that Savinho will not be sold this summer, no matter the money on offer.
It comes after the transfer insider repeatedly insisted that one 'important' person at Man City was blocking the potential exit of the 21-year-old in the belief that the youngster could become a crucial player for the club.
City stance blocks Rodrygo deal
With Savinho now set to stay at the Etihad, it means that Real Madrid superstar Rodrygo will not make the move to the blue half of Manchester. The 24-year-old would have been Pep Guardiola's preferred replacement for Savinho.
Any deal for Rodrygo was entirely contingent on his compatriot leaving Man City, although it is still not entirely clear if he would have even been willing to depart Real Madrid.
Recent reports have suggested that Rodrygo has asked his representatives to seek out potential suitors, but the player has not informed Real Madrid of a desire to leave.
Rodrygo would have commanded a fee in the region of €100 million as well as a hefty salary, with Man City one of the few clubs able to pay such a massive package. With less than a week to go in the window, it now looks likely that the Brazilian will stay in the Spanish capital.
