Sesko has now formally completed his transfer to the club, according to Ben Jacobs and Alex Crook, and he will be unveiled at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The Slovenia star has signed a five-year contract at Man Utd and he is expected to usurp Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee as the Red Devils’ new first-choice centre forward once his move is formally announced by the club.

Sesko was also courted by Newcastle United, however he opted to complete a move to Man Utd instead, despite being offered a lower wage package by Ruben Amorim’s side.

The 22-year-old scored a total of 39 goals and provided eight assists in 87 appearances for RB Leipzig and he has become Man Utd’s seventh-most expensive signing of all time, courtesy of his initial €76.5m transfer fee.

Sesko has become Man Utd’s fourth signing of the 2025 summer transfer window, following the arrivals of Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon for a combined price of €153.2m.

The Red Devils were initially eager to sign Viktor Gyokeres and Liam Delap this summer, amid Amorim’s desire to land a new striker, but the former opted to join Arsenal and the latter completed a move to Chelsea in June.

After turning their attention to Sesko in early August, Man Utd were quick to finalise a deal for the Leipzig superstar and he could be set to make his competitive debut for the club during their opening fixture of the 2025-26 Premier League season versus Arsenal on 17 August.
