OFFICIAL: Man Utd complete signing of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko
Manchester United have confirmed the signing of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko.
The Red Devils reached a full agreement to sign the Slovenia international for a fee that could reach €85 million on Thursday and confirmed the move on Saturday morning.
Sesko will be presented to the Man Utd fans prior to the friendly clash against Fiorentina at Old Trafford.
"Manchester United is pleased to confirm that Benjamin Sesko has joined the club, subject to registration," the club confirmed in a statement.
"The Slovenia international has signed a contract until June 2030."
Sesko was also courted by Newcastle United, but opted to complete a move to Man Utd instead, despite being offered a lower wage package by Ruben Amorim’s side.
The 22-year-old scored a total of 39 goals and provided eight assists in 87 appearances for RB Leipzig, and he has become Man Utd’s seventh-most expensive signing of all time, courtesy of his initial €76.5m transfer fee.
Benjamin Sesko joins Man Utd
Sesko has become Man Utd’s fourth signing of the 2025 summer transfer window, following the arrivals of Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon for a combined price of €153.2m.
The Red Devils were initially eager to sign Viktor Gyokeres and Liam Delap this summer, amid Amorim’s desire to land a new striker, but the former opted to join Arsenal and the latter completed a move to Chelsea in June.
After turning their attention to Sesko in early August, Man Utd were quick to finalise a deal for the Leipzig superstar, and he could be set to make his competitive debut for the club during their opening fixture of the 2025-26 Premier League season versus Arsenal on 17 August.
