Chelsea 'on the verge' of completing €65m transfer
Bayern Munich have reportedly joined the race to sign Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson amid his uncertain future at Stamford Bridge.
Vincent Kompany’s side have been unable to finalise a deal for Stuttgart forward Nick Woltemade this summer and they have now identified Jackson as a possible alternative as they eye a long-term replacement for Harry Kane.
That is according to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, who posted on X: “FC Bayern have made enquiries about Nicolas Jackson in the past few hours. Bayern have gathered information on his current status, price, and conditions. Newcastle are [also] seriously interested.
“The 24 y/o versatile striker is on the verge of leaving Chelsea. Price valuation: €65m.”
Multiple reports have indicated that Chelsea will demand at least €90m for Jackson this summer, with the club using the fees paid by Liverpool for Hugo Ekitike and Manchester United for Benjamin Sesko as references.
However, Plettenberg states that a €65m move could be on the cards as Chelsea look to offload the Senegal international following the summer signings of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Jackson is set to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, with Newcastle, Tottenham Hotspur and several Italian clubs all interested in the striker.
Enzo Maresca on Nicolas Jackson
When asked about Jackson’s future at Chelsea during a press conference on Thursday, Enzo Maresca told reporters: “Nico is okay. When the window is open, anything can happen. This involves Nico's situation.
“At the moment, the two strikers [Joao Pedro and Liam Delap] have arrived. So we will see.”
Jackson scored 13 goals and provided six assists in 37 appearances across all competitions last season, but he fell behind both Pedro and Delap in the pecking order during the Club World Cup and an exit now appears likely.
The Senegal star still has eight years remaining on his current contract at Chelsea, while his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) stands at €65.2m.
