Chelsea reportedly believe that Manchester United will “cave” and lower their asking price for Alejandro Garnacho before Transfer Deadline Day.

Enzo Maresca’s side have been in talks to sign the Argentina international for several weeks, but they are yet to finalise a deal to bring him to Stamford Bridge, despite reaching a full agreement on personal terms.

Garnacho is eager to leave Man Utd following a public bust-up with head coach Ruben Amorim, and the Red Devils are expected to sanction his departure on a permanent deal after excluding him from their pre-season tour of the USA.

The 21-year-old has set his sights on completing a transfer to Chelsea and Fabrizio Romano has even claimed that Garnacho is willing to spend the entire 2025-26 season on the sidelines if it enables him to join the Blues next summer.

A deal is, however, expected to go through before Transfer Deadline Day on 1 September, although Chelsea are yet to match Man Utd’s valuation.

The west London giants currently value Garnacho at €34.9 million (£30m), while the Red Devils are holding out for a fee of €58.1m (£50m). As a result, talks are at an impasse as things stand.

Alejandro Garnacho to Chelsea?

Chelsea remain confident of landing Garnacho for a bargain fee as they believe Man Utd will “cave” and lower their asking price before the end of the summer transfer window.

That is according to TEAMtalk, who claim that Chelsea will not budge on their valuation of Garnacho as they think Man Utd could be forced to reduce their expectations due to their desire to offload him.

Garnacho scored 11 goals and provided 10 assists in 58 appearances across all competitions last season, and he is expected to compete with Jamie Gittens for a starting berth at Chelsea if he completes his desired move to west London.
