Osimhen spent the 2024-25 campaign on loan at Galatasaray, scoring 37 goals in 41 appearances for the club, and he is now set to rejoin the club on a permanent deal after rejecting a €160 million contract proposal from Saudi Arabia.

The 26-year-old is expected to travel to Istanbul on Tuesday, as per Hakan Gündoğar (via Daily Post Nigeria), and he is set be unveiled as a new Galatasaray player with a “historic welcome.”

The move has been confirmed by multiple top transfer journalists, with Galatasaray reaching an agreement to pay an up-front fee of €40m, plus an additional €35m that will be paid next year.

Napoli will also boast a 10% sell-on clause, while Galatasaray will be unable to sell Osimhen to an Italian club for the next two years.

The Nigeria superstar will sign a four-year contract in Istanbul, and Italian journalist Nicolo Schira has confirmed that he will earn an annual salary of €18m.

Victor Osimhen to join Galatasaray

Osimhen was heavily linked with a summer move to Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Hilal, however he snubbed the chance to secure a lucrative contract in the Middle East in favour of remaining in Europe and he ultimately decided to return to Galatasaray, despite interest from numerous Premier League clubs.

Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Newcastle United were among the teams eager to sign Osimhen this summer, as per multiple reports, although they were unable to match his wage expectations and the Nigeria striker was unwilling to lower his demands.

As a result, a move to the English top flight failed to materialise and Osimhen is instead on the verge of formally joining Galatasaray on a permanent deal.
