Chelsea Transfer News Today: Wonderkid signing confirmed amid bid for second deal
All the latest Chelsea transfer news in one place, including updates on Marc Casado, Joaquin Panichelli and Castello Lukeba.
BlueCo sign Zongo
Chelsea owners BlueCo have wrapped up a deal for Burkinabe wonderkid Muhammad Zongo from Sporting Cascades.
The 16-year-old featured at the recent U17 World Cup, which prompted BlueCo to complete his signing, although he won't be able to head to Europe until he turns 18.
Zongo is initially expected to link up with Ligue 1 club Strasbourg, but he will be 'promoted' to Chelsea if he develops as expected.
Chelsea prepared to bid for Lukeba
Chelsea are primed to beat several European giants to the signing of RB Leipzig defender Castello Lukeba.
The France international will have an €80 million release clause in the summer, but it is claimed that Leipzig could sell him for €60m in January.
Chelsea are prepared to match this asking price and are not expected to have problems agreeing personal terms with the centre-back.
Chelsea reignite Casado pursuit
Chelsea are ready to return for Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado after making an approach in the previous summer window.
The 22-year-old has a €100 million release clause and was unwilling to leave the Catalans six months ago, but Chelsea remain interested.
Casado is one of a whopping six Barcelona players to have been shortlisted by Chelsea.
Chelsea control Panichelli future
Man Utd are interested in Strasbourg striker Joaquin Panichelli, but it increasingly looks as though Chelsea will have the final say on his future.
The Argentine started the season in red-hot form at the Blues' sister club, and Chelsea are keeping a very close eye on his development.
If push comes to shove, Chelsea will be at the front of the queue to sign Panichelli despite already wrapping up a deal for fellow Strasbourg striker Emmanuel Emegha.
